Blog #8 Reading - Brittany Fulcher

Hey guys!:) I hope y’all are all doing well and enjoying your summer. Even if you don’t care, I’m doing fine. Bored a lot, but fine. I decided that I’d get another blog out of the way today, so I’m gonna rant about something I love. Which is reading. I have a ton of books on my phone, along with reading several actual books that I buy or check out from the library. Like music, I use reading as a way to escape. When I’m stressed, I read. When things are rough at home, I read. When I’m fighting with someone, I read. When I don’t want to do any work, I read. Reading has been something I’ve been able to rely on these past few years. It allows me to forget about the bad and stressful things in my life, even if it’s  only for a few hours. I love reading. Mostly I read fiction. Sometimes I’ll read a few biography books about interesting people. Several genres catch my eye when I’m choosing a book. Romance, comedy, mystery, and crime books are all types I love. I also love books that teach self love and motivation. Lately, I’ve read several books not having much of anything else to do. I’m not complaining though. The first book I read this month was Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee. It’s the second book for To Kill a Mockingbird. It continues Scout’s story, but later in her life. She tries to find herself as a woman and other things after returning home. It’s an amazing read for any of you who actually liked To Kill a Mockingbird. I remember when I seen the book, I threw a fit for it because my copy of it is a beautiful hardback. It’s weird but I love books that have wonderful covers. Not that I don’t like ones that don’t. My latest read was Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda. It was also an amazing read. It taught me a lesson, which I love when books do. Embrace who you are. That’s literally something I took from this book and will hold on to. I realize this is probably long enough. So I’ll stop. I just really love reading.
Bye :)

Blog #1 - Grace Anne

Oh man I forgot about this and I don’t know about everyone else, but sometimes this is the reason I don’t wanna take AP classes. It’s okay though because it’s supposed to go for a better future... I think.  It also took me like three weeks to even get in. So now I can start, and have no idea what to even talk about. Hope everyone’s summer is great, and your doing your thing. I’m currently getting new tires because, some wonderful people decided to slash one of them:) We were in West Memphis at a casino, yeah I know what your thinking what we’re you doing there, not the point. We watched video of who done it, and it was the person who I beat to the parking spot, they said I cut them off. However I did not do that and now I’m spending Friday afternoon at Gateway tires...  I guess I could say what I’ve learned cause we aren’t even half way through summer, and I’ve learned more this summer than any other time. Also I just wanna take a second to talk about the new incredibles movie I went to see. It’s a kids movie, but we went to watch it cause I’ve been waiting since forever to see it. Anyways before the movie started this little animated filmed played and I was so confused, but it was good. There was also TWO curse words and the elastic chick was drinking. So what I’m saying is i was not expecting that. Also I’m always trying to see new movies so if anyone has any recommendations or wants to come let me know cause I loveeee movies. Sorry back on topic about this thing. I still got to start on the other part of this too. Most people said they would give advice or something so I guess I won’t do that, and I mean who really wants to listen to my rants. Oh well I’ll figure it out.Any way if you’ve read this thanks for letting me waste a good minute and half of your time, and for the future get ready for a wild ten more blogs. That’s all I got bye. -Grace Anne Puckett

Blog Post Uno: Kaitlyn Reed

What is up my homies? That is a rhetorical question, please do not answer. I do not care. Anyway, summer has gone by like incredibly fast like I thought we were still in like May, turns out it is almost July lol. It's not like I have done anything productive this summer though. Literally all I have done is hang out with Lexi and spend money. Money that I am supposed to save for trips but yolo right? The only other thing I have done this summer other than blow my allowance and hang with my home girl is work in Mr.Wynn's stupid garden. Literally I have gotten up at 6 at least 100 Monday's so far to work in the garden and it still looks like crap. Nothing is going to help that garden. On top of that, I injured myself working out there. Yeah, I got injured. Not gonna tell you what happened cause it is none of your business but I am pretty sure I could sue for an unsafe working environment. If I have to work out there anymore I might actually like commit. (I am just playing, please do not tell Shey that I need like therapy or something.) And the worst part is, the people who arranged it are not even showing up. It has literally just been Lexi and me out there most of the times. I am not meant to be outside working. That is like foreign to me. I do not do anything that involves physical labor and they expect me to get up at 6 AM and fricking go out there and hoe a garden? No thanks. But other than that, my summer has been great. It would be better if I remembered to do my summer assignment but it's all good in the hood. Well, I am done for now. See y'all in like two week when I remember I need to do this assignment.

(I hope this is close to 350 words because if it's not I might have to commit.)

(Kidding again, please don't tell Shey.)

Blog #7 - Brittany Fulcher

Hey, guys. I hope all of you have been having a great and enjoyable summer. Mine seems to be zooming by but also going by really slow. It has been an okay summer, but I have had better. Being at my Dads, I do not have a ton of things to do. He’s always working too, so we never go on trips or anything like that. I used to love spending summers and other times with my Dad, but now that I’m older, it’s so boring. At home, I’m always gone places or with someone having a good time. It’s honestly very difficult for me to just sit at home with literally nothing to do. I read and binge watch random things, but I prefer being out doing things. I’ve already finished my notes for this summer assignment, but these blogs are difficult. It is not really writing the blogs that are hard, it’s commenting. Not many of the blogs have been worked on, and I don’t relate to many of the ones written so far. This is my seventh blog and I’ve literally only commented four times. Another thing I have done this summer is listen to music a lot. Mostly it is One Direction, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and mixes of Country, Pop, and like Bon Jovi. It’s a weird mix but it is something to keep me occupied. Nothing beats a good jam session. Just listening to the music and singing my heart out. It honestly makes me happy. Another thing I like doing is watching concert videos. Weird I know, but it is actually a good way to waste your data, forgetting to connect to WiFi. Honestly, this was just a rant to get another blog done. I’m so ready to be compeltely done with this assignment. Even though it might be the easiest summer assignment ever, because reading Lord of the Flies was the worst thing I have ever done. That book was the definition of boring. At least to me anyways. I don’t even know  if this is close to 350 words, but yolo. I honestly just wanted another one done. I hope y’all are enjoying your summer! Bye guys.

Blog #1 Ally Pendergrass- Vacation

Hi everyone! I hope you're all having a great summer! I am, too. Last week I got back from a cruise to Costa Maya and Cozumel. I went with my cousins Whitney and Kalli and we had a great time. We left a couple of days before the cruise and drove to Birmingham to stay the night and keep going the next day. The day before the cruise, we continued driving down to Gulf Shores and went to LuLu's to eat and hang out for a little bit. Afterwards, we continued our drive to Pensacola and stopped at the beach on our way. The plan was to just see the beach and be on our way but we ended up practically swimming, but not really on purpose, it just happened. We drove on to Pensacola and stayed with one of Whitney's friends that lives there. The next day we drove back up to Mobile and got on the boat. We got to our room but none of us had realized that we had an interior room without a window. So when we got to the room, there was a an area on the wall that looked like a huge window and even had curtains in front of it. When I went over and opened the curtains, I was pretty disappointed to see nothing but a wall staring back at me. But it was fine since we were never really in there anyway. The first day, we were at sea the whole day so we just laid out by the pool. Our first day on land was Costa Maya. In Costa Maya, we went to an adventure park which was a water park with ziplines. It was a lot of fun but we were exhausted by the end of it. The next day we were in Cozumel and went to a place called Mr. Sanchos. It's a beach park so we swam just about all day. The next day we were back on the boat and I don't think that I have ever been so tired in my life. We had tons of fun but it was very nice to be back home and on steady ground that wasn't constantly rocking.

Hailey’s blog #4

Well, I was sitting at my grandparents house bored to death and I thought it would be the perfect time to write another blog for my summer assignment. I couldn’t think about a single thing to write about in this post. I even looked through some family photos and pictures that were taken on vacations. However, none of them helped with my thought process, so I gave up on writing about anything in this blog. Then my cousin Ava walked through the door and saved me from just stating random things through out this blog. So I decided I’ll tell you about our summer instead. We have went to plenty of water parks, along with the multiple swims in her pool. The only problem is that she has a doggy pool and it is extremely hard for both of us to fit, but she insists everytime that I need to get in with her. So it ends with me cramming into this pool, us playing with the toys, and spraying Blake with the water guns. When we aren’t swimming, we are playing with some Lols dolls. I swear these dolls are the dumbest things. They are really small and have weird names. Some of Ava’s favorite Lols are Funky Cutie, Big Don, Gogo Girl, and Queen Bee. She tries to take these dolls with her everywhere she goes, but usually Blake and Ryan make her leave them at home. The last thing I’ll tell y’all about Ava for this blog is how she believes she can speak Spanish. So, Ava came down to my house and my parents made her some chicken and French fries for super. Hayden waited until she ate a few pieces and asked if they were good. Ava said no es buneo. We all ask her what she said to make sure we understood her and she said the same thing again and then all of us starting dying laughing. It was hilarious, because she was telling us the food was no good in Spanish. So, my summer has been eventful and full of fun with Ava. I truly hope that it continues to be that fun and I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their summer!

so im really behind on all these because i absolutely don't think about this kind of stuff during the summer but im going to try to get back on my high horse and finish all of these in the next few weeks. i hope everyone's summer is going great though because mine has been up, down, left, right, horizontal, and diagonal. currently my dad has been in and out of the hospital because of his heart and lungs so i prayers are very much needed at the moment. other than that i went to the beach the 13th and came back the 18th. it literally rained most the time except for the days that we went to gulf shores because we was staying in Pensacola with my aunt and my sister and a close family friend was staying in gulf shores, so we would stay with them a few days. overall it was a great trip, i got to see my cousins that i haven't seen in years. they are so grown up and it breaks my heart it will be a while before i see them again. while at the beach we ate at this really cool, i mean like EXTREMELY cool restaurant. it was called tacky jacks. the main reason its called  "tacky jacks" is because everywhere you look there is bright colored duck tape with peoples names, snapchats, instagrams, and numbers. they literally "tack" stuff to the walls. anyways that was that. i really miss school. and i rlly hope everyone is having a bomb summer. anddddddd i dont know so :)

Lexi B’s Blog #5

It’s a new week, so here’s a new blog. My trip to Oklahoma was long and tiring although we were only there for three days. We spent the majority of the trip driving somewhere new. Within those three days, I got approximately six hours of sleep. It was awful. The bed was not comfy and Kaitlyn wanted to sleep with all the lights on. We got a late start on the drive home. We didn’t even leave until about 4:30 pm. After fifteen minutes of driving, it started raining. It wasn’t a heavy rain, but it was enough to make us slow down a little bit. This continued until the Arkansas line. Once we crossed into Arkansas, it started storming. The rain was so heavy it obstructed our entire view of the road. We had to drive 50 miles per hour for about a hour and a half, so you can imagine how miserable that was. Eventually, we drove out of the storm and onto a dry road. This dry weather only lasted about two hours, though. We stopped in Beebe for gas and dinner. We went to McDonald’s and a stop that should’ve last about 5 minutes ended up taking 20. A guy threw a fit about how “gross” the restaurant was and how “irresponsible” the employees were. He then began to film and take pictures. I felt like I was in the making of a Facebook post. By the time we got our food, the sky was clouding up. It once again began to down pour. We didn’t make it home until about 10:45. If it wouldn’t have been storming, we would’ve been home before 10. You guys have no idea how happy I was to finally make it home. I seriously never want to go back to Oklahoma after this experience. I have to go back in September and if it does as much as sprinkle, I am turning the car around. I cannot go through another drive like that. It was one of the worst experiences of my whole life, but the McDonald’s situation totally made up for it.

Blog #6 Seperated Parents - Brittany Fulcher

Hey guys! I couldn’t really thing of anything I could write a blog over, and I really needed to do one. So I chose to write these 350 words over my parents being separated. Some of you may be able to relate to this, whether it was recent, when you were younger, or at a time you couldn’t remember. If you haven’t went through this experience, I hope it’s better that way. My parents tried so hard to stay together, I know they did. Mom always said she thought about leaving before my sister and I even came along. It happened when I was six. Mom moved to Lake City with my sister and I, while my older brothers stayed with my Dad in Rison. I still don’t know if it was worse being four hours away from my dad or my brothers. Over the years my parents were about, it taught me a lesson. Nothing in this world is made to last no matter how hard you try to make it that way. My parents had a good first few years and then it turned into “I’m doing it for the kids.” Eventually that excuse wasn’t even good enough anymore. It has taught me that I can’t be depend on anyone. My mom had to work hard as a single parent to support us, just like my Dad did for the boys. I love my parents equally. I used to hate them for breaking apart our family, but now I believe it made us stronger. Both my parents became independent and strong. My bond with my siblings grew stronger with it. At least in my opinion it did. I think my parents seperating had to be a great thing in my life. I became more independent because I learned that every time you need someone, they might not be there. Whenever I want to hug my Dad, 98% of the time he isn’t there, but I have learned to cope with just hearing his voice on the phone. It brought me to Lake City, and I actually love it. I grew up with a better school and education. Trust me, Rison is worse. I made life long friends, like Lexi B, Kaitlyn, Hailey, and Teressa. Also I have more opportunities. It wasn’t the best thing for my family at the time, but as the years pass, I think that it was the best thing.

Blog 4 by Eli G

My summer so far has been alright. I hope everyone else's has been a little more action packed. All mine has consisted of so far is basically working on a stupid pool, sitting around, and applying for a job. The pool working part has probably been the most action packed part of my summer. I've also just been watching the Texas Rangers and NASCAR. We were supposed to go on vacation sometime this summer but that's not happening anymore. My brother, his wife, and her family are going on vacation this weekend but we didn't get an invite to go with them. I have no idea why. Whatever though. They're just going to St. Louis. If I go anywhere it's not going to be up north. I'm just waiting for a call back so I can have a job. Until then I'm just gonna chill and watch the Rangers and NASCAR.

Hailey’s blog #3

I have family all over the country and with my great grandfather passing away it brought a lot of them down. However, the fun and crazy one that my whole family loves is my great aunt Joyce. She has two kids that she adopted. The oldest is Lee and he is in band and enjoys the outdoors and the youngest is Zoe and she loves doing girly things. Zoe loves to get her nails done and have her hair fixed. She is African American, so she can do all kinds of things to her hair. My aunt Joyce is married, but her husband doesn’t come around our family a lot. She is a true believer that everything is bigger in Texas. She drives a Ford truck that has body lifts along with enormous tires. She has a light bar and pod lights on it and it is hilarious watching her trying to get in it. She uses a step ladder to get in, because she can’t step in to the truck. Anyway, about three days before my great grandfather died, my aunt Joyce and my family were sitting outside at my great grandmother’s house. She was talking about her husband’s brother and their dogs. She was trying to describe the dogs to us and she was saying that it was used to attack lions then she said that it might be used to attack elephants. At this time she had all of us confused so we started to look up dogs that might have the same description. My dad pulls up a Bullmastiff and Joyce goes crazy saying that that is the dog. Then we all start laughing, because she was so terrified of this dog that was harmless. It was so funny. I’m pretty sure that I will never forget that memory. I love my aunt Joyce and how much fun she is, but she lives in Texas and I barely get to see her.

Hailey Carr’s blog post 2

I hope everyone is having a good summer and having lots of fun with their friends. My summer hasn’t been to fun. First it started off with me playing in Jonesboro. My summer was great for a couple of weeks. I was having fun and hanging out with my friends. Then my great grandfather became sick. My great grandfather was an 80 year old man that might have weighed 90 pounds and when he got a cold it took almost a month for him to get over it. So, all my family knew there was a chance that he wouldn’t get over pneumonia. It didn’t help that he also had COPD which is a lung disease that affects your breathing. So with pneumonia and the COPD, it made it super hard for him to breath. I spent about two weeks going up to the hospital everyday and spending about 6 hours there and just talking to my great grandfather. He told me all kinds of stories. The stories were mostly about gold and the donuts that he use to make. Then he started getting better, so we left to go to Little Rock for a tournament. My mother faced time him for a little while and then on Sunday, he passed away.  Everyone was upset and all of our family came down from all over the world. We had the funeral and everything went well. However, that’s not the only thing that has happened in my summer so far. My air conditioner in my car went out. Then my mother hit a beaver on the highway and totaled her car. So my family is now sharing two cars between four different people that have places to go. However, the body shop is supposed to be done with my mother’s car by Friday. Then my dad and Hayden are going to fix my car in a week or two. So everything will be fine, and then maybe I will be able to henjoy the rest of my summer. Hopefully nothing else will happen to my family in the rest of summer.

Blog #5 - Having Older Brothers - Brittany Fulcher

I was blessed with two older brothers, Ryan and Josh. I am not sure if it was a complete blessing though, but I would not want it any other way. Ryan is eight years older than me, and Josh is six years older. Having older siblings gave me someone to look up to other than parents, people on tv, or other inspirational people. Not everything they do is inspiring or good, but it helped shape my personality and some of the things I like. Ryan is one of the reasons I knew Transformers or any super hero movie really existed when I was younger. It wasn’t my thing to watch or care about, but I listen to him when talking about it. He is one of the reasons I have decent listening skills whether I like the topic or not. Josh, on the other hand, some of his influences are kind of, out of the ordinary to me. Especially being a girl. As long as I remember, Josh watched WWE. He played the games, owned the action figure things, rings, and probably more. The boy even made a homemade ring by flipping the tramploline over. You can probably guess my Dad was not happy with that one. Growing up, I tried acting just like him. I would play WWE on any game console, practice moves seen on TV either on him or Tiffany. Heck, when I’m mad, I still play WWE on my Xbox. It’s a good way to release anger. Josh is also a reason I speak up for myself because he does the same. He does not let anyone talk down to him. He speaks his mind about things and I’m slowly learning to do the same. I have learned several other things from both of my brothers, but I feel like I have went on long enough. Both my brothers inspire me daily without realizing that and I love them for it, even it Josh used to try wrestling moves he seen on me. It all worked out and I could not be happier to have older siblings.

Lexi B’s Blog #4

Hi, my name’s Lexi, and I have a shopping addiction. I seriously bought two different dresses for the same event.. haha why do I do this to myself? My mom doesn’t know I bought the second dress. I hope she’s not too disappointed, because it wasn’t my intention to buy the second dress; it just happened. So picture this: I’m walking down the aisles of Target looking for a salesperson to help me find a flower vase. I walk past the women’s dressing rooms, and I spotted the good ole sales rack. On this rack hung the prettiest yellow dress I had ever seen. It was a wrap, midi dress. It was yellow with a white pattern (it’s either flowers or cottton I haven’t decided yet). I took it to the dressing room and it fit like it was made just for me. I mean this dress was beautiful and on sale! It was my destiny to walk past the sales rack. I really don’t think I’m gonna tell my mom I bought this dress. When we get ready for the event, I’m just gonna pretend like I’ve owned the dress for years. She’ll probably know I’m bluffing, though. In all fairness, she has known me my entire life and knows all my tricks. So, y’all pray for me next weekend when my mom sees my dress. One of two scenarios will happen: either she will really like it or she will be really disappointed. We’ll be in Oklahoma at the time. I may or may not come back. It just depends on how fed up Mom is with my spending habits. If I don’t make another blog after this, just know I am living with my grandma in Oklahoma. I have probably bought a pair of cowboy boots and started working on the farm. Life is okay, but it would be better if I was in Arkansas.

P.s.: I’m totally kidding about Mom leaving me in Oklahoma. She loves me a lot and she has the same spending habits I do, so she can’t be too mad. Love you, mama!!

KT Blog 4: The Eighth Guard

- Book Name: The Eighth Guardian (Annum Guard Book One)

- Author: Meredith McCardle

- Genre: Sci-fi, Fantasy, Time-Travel, Mystery.

- Description: (CAUTION! I'm kind of a spoiler. Some of the summary might be spoilers, I'll try not to, but I sometimes just put it there without realizing that it's a potential spoiler, but I'll try my best to not spoil too much while still telling a lot about the story) Since we got that out of the way, let's go!

~

Amanda Oberman (Code name: Iris) is in her junior year at the Peel Academy. Peel Academy is is a government training school, where about 90% of the students end-up going into CIA, and the other 10% going into other branches of the government. To decide what branch you're going into, juniors and seniors are put into many situations and challenges, referred to as Testing Day. Testing Day is practically like a regular schools end of the year test and graduation, except there's no diploma. You get handed the governmental branch you're headed into, and that's it.

No Junior has graduated on Testing Day in decades, so no would expect Amanda to be graduating on Testing Day, but she's got a sinking feeling. So when her name gets called to collect her letter that will tell her what she's doing for the rest of her life, it's not what she was expecting.

Annum Guard is a secret organization in the government that only a selected few know about. They take care of problems by time-traveling and altering the past. And Amanda’s their unwanted newest member. Annum Guard only consists of seven members, and Amanda is the guinea pig to test if they can add more members. Cut off from loved ones and forced to take on a new identity, she'll have to prove herself to stay in Annum Guard, or be sent off to an eternity of isolation where no one will believe her stories of time travel and the government can keep a close eye on her. But Annum Guard is hiding a web of lies, and she wont stop until she uncovers them all.

~

I liked this book, and the way the author explains time-travel is very interesting and easy to understand. I would recommend to anyone who likes mystery and time-travel.

KT Blog 3: Shadow Fall

Okay, I'm going to kinda write this in a book format-type-deal-thingy. Lol.

- Book Name: Shadow Fall (Book one in the Shadow Fall Series)
- Author: Audrey Grey
- Genre: Sci-fi, Fantasy, Dystopia, I'd say kind of a thriller, and some romance.
- A crazily detailed description/summary: (CAUTION! I'm kind of a spoiler. Some of the summary might be spoilers, I'll try not to, but I sometimes just put it there without realizing that it's a potential spoiler, but I'll try my best to not spoil too much while still telling a lot about the story) Since we got that out of the way, let's go!
~
Maia Graystone has lived in the Pit for years, surviving only by digging holes, earning herself the name Digger Girl, and with measly scraps of food. It's a game of predator and prey in the Pit, roaming with murders and psychopaths. One wrong move and you'll be eaten alive, literally. The Pit is below Rhine prison, it's residents deemed “non-helpful” to society and of low income. As if being trapped in the Pit wasn't bad enough, the world is only days away from being struck by an asteroid that will likely kill everyone. But of course, the Emperor and his Gold Court will be perfectly safe at their space station, watching from the stars. The Silvers will be protected underground, in a deep sleep. But the Bronzes? They'll have to fight to survive.

When a mysterious benefactor offers Maya the chance to compete in the Shadow Trials to win a spot on the space station for herself and her little brother, she takes it. She'll have to completely change her identity and do the unthinkable to win. Partnered with a psychopath from the Pit, allies of the benefactor who seem to have an agenda of their own, and a locked memory of what her late father was trying to accomplish before he was brutally murdered, she doesn't know who to trust, let alone how to win the Shadow Trials.
~
My thoughts: I honestly really liked this story. I've already read the second book, Shadow Rise, and the third book should be coming out sometime this year. I got the book free through Kindle Unlimited on Amazon. (When you read WAY too much). In my opinion, it was kinda better than the Divergent and Maze Runner series. The story just felt so real. And a little terrifying, truthfully. But I really liked this book and I would definitely recommend it.

I'm out!

KT Blog 2: BTS

Heya! I need to start putting alarm clocks or something to remember to write these blogs. Anyways... have you guys heard of BTS? (I'm promoting, don't hate) They're a K-Pop group (South Korean). They consist of 7 amazing members: RM, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. My favorite is Suga, known as a bias in the K-Pop world, and BTS as a whole are all bias wreckers. They just released their new album, Love Yourself 'Tear', with their title song "Fake Love,” (Click song name to listen to song) which continues the story from their Wings and Love Yourself “Her” albums. RM quote from an interview when asked to explain their song “Fake Love”: “How can you love the things and people that surround you, if you can't love yourself?” The man can be pretty deep…(I say this, but I'm literally talking about the same guy that in their “BTS are interviewed with puppies” interview one of the puppies accidentally pees on the floor and he had to make the pun that’s why they are called puppies.. pup-pees. Lol)

They've won many awards since debuting in 2013, 12 this year, actually! They won the award for Top Social Artist at the BBMAs twice this year, and have been nominated for 4 awards in the RDMAs. (Army, fandom name, were also nominated for an award at the RDMAs: Squad Goals)

Anyways, if you want a more English Song (The whole song pretty much besides the first part) "Mic Drop" Steve Aoki remix would be a good choice for you. (Click link on name to listen to song)

And if you think it's silly that I posted something like this, let me just state something. Have you listened to "Despacito"? That song is literally in SPANISH, and you're telling me you can't be open to Korean? But your opinion, I guess. I just felt like ranting for a minute.

Okay, I think that's close enough to the word count. (I honestly just put this to add more words). I'll probably do another blog about BTS, I can't help it, they literally just about took over my whole life. I'll probably even add more kpop groups as I go. So yeah, I'm out!

Blog 3 by Eli G

Back at the beginning of January, I finally got the chance to see one of my idols. It was my all time favorite NASCAR driver Carl Edwards. Carl had been racing in NASCAR since about 2003 or 2004. He started out in NASCAR's truck series where he won his first race at Daytona. He went on the next couple of years to race part time with Roush Fenway Racing. In 2005 he landed a full time ride with the team and had a full time sponsor too. He also raced in the Busch Series, what is now the Xfinity Series. Carl had a very consistent career. He stayed with Roush Fenway up until the 2015 season. He then switched over to Joe Gibbs Racing. He put together two really nice seasons in the number 19 Arris Toyota. In 2008, 2011, and 2016 he came so close to winning the championship. In 2008 he won about 8 or 9 races. In 2011, he only won one race but the championship ended up being the closest finish in the championship ever. Him and Tony Stewart were tied at the end of the race but the championship went to Stewart because he had more wins on the year. 2016 was a heartbreaker. Carl had 3 wins on the year. His last coming in Texas. He dominated the championship race but with 13 to go a caution came out. A late race restart caused Carl to wreck out of the championship battle. Sadly that was the last time he would be in a car. With about a month away from the start of the season, Carl decided to retire. That's why I was able to meet one of my lifelong idols on January 6th in Springfield. It was awesome though because I got his autograph and got to talk to him. He is probably the nicest person in the world. I got to watch him be inducted into the Ozark Racers Hall of Fame. It was truly something that I will never forget.

Lexi B’s Blog #3

What’s up, my fellow intelligent classmates? I almost forgot about this until about 2 days ago. I decided to do a blog, but I couldn’t log in on my computer. Thanks, Google for wanting to protect our gmail account, but you’re seriously being a pain in the butt. So, here am I, 8 on a Saturday night writing a blog post for school. What a loser, am I right? Anyways, my summer has been spent either by a pool or babysitting my step brother. It’s only June, and this summer has lasted what seems like a lifetime. I suppose I should make this summer super fantastic considering we have one more summer of high school after this one. For example, today, I woke up at the wonderful time of 6:45 am (gross, I know). I went with my dad to get his oil changed. After this, we went and took my granny shopping. We then ate and went swimming. I spent the rest of my day babysitting. Try not to be too horribly jealous of my day. I just hope you guys are having the summer of your lives! This means laughing until you can’t breath and making memories that last you a lifetime. I know I have already made quite a few memories. This also means to stay safe. Every single time you get in a vehicle, buckle up. It doesn’t matter if you’re going right down the street or to the beach put that seatbelt on! Seatbelts will literally save your life. Also, wear sunscreen!! I can’t stress how important it is to protect yourself from the sun’s harmful rays. Failure to wear sunscreen can cause skin cancer and wrinkles. I know you probably don’t care about wrinkles considering we’re not even adults yet, but one day you will care about wrinkles! I always see these commercials for anti-aging and de-wrinkling creams, but you don’t have to worry about wrinkles if you take care of your skin now! Please stay safe this summer and make this one the best one yet. Make good decisions, kiddos!!

Blog #2 - Carmen Campbell

Alrighty guys wassup?? It feels like we haven’t been outta school for the time we have, and i’ve literally been spending ever waking moment in the sun. Proll gonna get skin cancer before the age of 20 but it’s fine at least i won’t be pale for the rest of my life. but on a serious note my dudes me and my sister have been arguing like cats and dogs because she thinks she’s the mother hen and can stick her two sense in. how rude, i know right?! on the other hand my whole working out thing hasn’t been working out (hahaha that’s funny bc ike it’s called working out but it’s not “working out” okay sorry back to my story) mostly for the reason being that i get such a work out cleaning around the house and outside i don’t feel like doing it, so maybe i am getting a working just not the way i see it. besides from these blogs i have been writing personal journals. doing this makes it so easy to over come and get over things in my opinion. it lets things out of your brain and on to a piece of paper where you can reflect on everything. it’s a great idea if you wanna not be so cranky or anger about something. other than my life, summers been great and i honestly thinks it’s gonna be the best one yet. i wish the same for everyone else and hope that it is safe but still manageable fun. so ima go now but once again i don’t know how many words i have so theres a chance ima ramble, haha look i am. okay bye. peace out girls<3 oh and p.s. i know no one cares but i only have 284 words but i cracked my phone but it’s fine because it’s just the screen protector, i almost started crying when i thought it wasn’t. okay bye now:))

Blog #4 One Direction - Brittany Fulcher

Hey guys! I am having a boring day, so I thought why not write a blog and have one less to worry about. This is gonna be a short rant about my favorite band ever. It probably seems childish, but I do not care about your opinion. One Direction is a great band even if they all have solo careers now. I started listening when the first album came out, which was Up All Night. That is when I first realized I liked to listen to their music. So when the other four albums came out, I listened to them just as much. I like each of the band members, even Zayn after he left the band. Harry has always been my favorite though. The songs are great and I listen to them all the time. I love most of them, some are not my favorite, but I still listen. The ones that I like most include some of the most known songs such as One Thing, Little Things, What Makes you Beautiful, Midnight Memories, and If I Could Fly. My other favorites are not as known or appreciated. They are Love You Goodbye, Truly, Madly, Deeply, Happily, Don’t Forget Where You Belong, Fool’s Gold, and Stockholm Syndrome. Of course I like plenty of the other songs, but those are some of the top ones on my list. Their solo careers are great too. Harry, Niall, and Zayn have all released albums. Louis and Liam have released several singles. I like their solo music just as much as their music together.
Okay, so I am not sure if this is three hundred and fifty words, but I tried. I would keep going, but my phone keeps losing service. Hope you enjoyed listening to my small rant. Just be happy it was not more because I could go on and on about this group. As you can see now I am rambling, desperate to get the word count needed. I will stop now.
Bye guys :) Continue enjoying your summer! - Brittany Fulcher

Blog 2 by Eli G

I have been watching my favorite MLB team the Texas Rangers since about 2009. I would say I have been a loyal fan throughout all these years. I have stuck with them through their tough years of finishing below .500 and through their strong years of making the World Series. In 2010, the Rangers put together a really strong year. They finished the regular season with a record of 90-72. They won their division which is the AL West. Their season was strong enough that they kept it running into the postseason. They flew through the ALDS and ALCS. They were set to take on the San Francisco Giants in the Fall Classic. Unfortunately they lost to the Giants in a close and entertaining series. The following season in 2011 was an even stronger season. Their record at the end of the regular season was 97-65. It was the second best record in the American League behind the New York Yankees. Again that season they made the World Series and took on the St. Louis Cardinals. Yet again that series was great. It is known as one of the best in history. The series went 7 games and yet again ended with a loss. In 2012, the Rangers proved again that they could be a threat for the championship. They ended the season with a record of 93-69. Their playoff hopes ended early when they lost in the Wildcard game to the Orioles. After that they haven't been the same. Their worst season was 2014. In 2015 and 2016 they made it to the ALDS. 2017 was not strong at all. 2018 is starting the same way too. - Eli G
