Question: Cats or Dogs?
I've never been much of a cat person, really. I think I've had maybe only one cat in my whole life. I think I'm more of a dog person. Cats are easier to take care of, but the few cats that I knew were evil. Dogs require a little more attention, but they tend to be sweet. Now, this doesn't go for all dogs or all cats. Some cats are really chill and sweet and laid back and some dogs are vicious and evil. I'm just speaking from my experience with both animals. I've owned a few animals in the past. I've had a cat, hermet crab, turtle, Guinea pig, pigs, and tons of dogs. But, when you are out in the country like I am, you can have a lot of animals. Most of my animals are outside animals. They normally start as inside dogs and they stay that way until they start seeking the outdoors. Once they start constantly wanting to be outside with the other dogs, they become super dirty and full of fleas. As much as I love my dogs, bathing them every night just so that can go back outside to do the same thing all over again gets repetitive and irritating. However, some of "our" dogs aren't really our dogs. We started out with just 2 dogs and somehow over just a short period of time, we ended up with about 7-9 dogs. What happens is a bunch of different people come out to the country and literally drop their dogs off on our front porch. Two of the dogs we have were literally left on my aunts doorstep and they just found their way to my house. In all honesty, the distance isn't very far, but still.
Oh man, I'm so jealous of all the animal's you've had. I've had I think 3 hermit crabs when I was around 4 or 5 years old, and I don't remember a lot about them but I do remember that I cared about them a lot. That's crazy that people just drop animals off. That sounds like something out of a movie. We've taken care of stray dogs and cats a few times so they wouldn't starve or get sick, but it always ends up that someone ends up claiming the dogs for a pet or the animal leaves and we never see them again. And I feel you on the fleas. When my brothers would play outside, we took our dog out with us all the time and we had to stop bringing her out with us because she would constantly get fleas and dirty.
