Anna Meurer- #1

Just like a lot of the class I have decided to wait last minute to do my assignment. I'm not really sure what to write about because I haven't done anything all that interesting this summer, but it has been pretty fun even though it has flown by. I have done a few fun things, like go to Oklahoma. I went to Oklahoma in the beginning of July for the national rodeo that my boyfriend made it to. I didn't really know what to expect going since rodeo's aren't really my thing, but I knew that it would be fun, so I decided to go. We were there for what felt like 2 days because it was so fun, but we were actually there 9. When we first got there, we set up the camper and got everything together, but it was pretty much bed time so we went to sleep. We woke up the next day and just did the usual. We went and watched the roping's, which sounds really boring, but it's actually pretty entertaining. Then came the big day where my boyfriend would do all his events that he had been doing all year. He just ropes, but there are different kinds of roping. He does team roping, ribbon roping, and tie down roping. Which took me forever to figure out. Team roping is where two people rope the steer. The first person ropes the head of the steer and they are called the header. The second person catches the feet of the steer, and that person is called the healer. Ribbon roping is where there are also two people, but normally it's a boy and a girl. There is a roper, roping the head of the calf as fast as they can, because the faster they do it, the shorter distance their partner has to run. So once they catch the head, their partner runs and gets the ribbon off of its tail, and then they run back to where they started. Next is tie down. Tie down is where they catch the head of the steer, the person jumps off of their horse, while their horse works for them which means pull it back, the boy is supposed to grab the steer by its feet, throw it down and tie it as fast as he can. So that basically all of the events that he competes in, which sounds kind of boring, but they are actually fun to watch and I'm sure they are fun to do. This was basically all I did on my trip to Oklahoma, but it ended up being a lot of fun.

This is my last blog. Wow. That’s amazing. Some of y’all probably thought I just wasn’t going to the summer assignment. After I complete this blog 1/3 of the summer assignment isn’t complete. I still have not started on the book or my comments. Love that for me. Anyways. I said in my last blog that I was going to talk more about my goals for the school year. The goals I already listed were getting better at writing, focusing on my grades more, and time management. There are so many goals that I have this year but I’m going to focus on two more main ones that I have for the school year. Last year at school, I wanted nothing else but to fit in. I wanted to be liked. This year I want to focus on me. Last year’s school year I wouldn’t get any of my work done because I was trying to make everyone laugh or something silly like that. It really brought down my grades. This year, with the goals I have already said, I feel as though I really won’t  have time to very slacking off. So with my busy schedule I feel like I will be better off that way. I don’t know if any of this makes sense to all of you but it makes sense to me so we’re just gonna role with it, haha. Another goal I have for this year is to make, well not really make, but encourage Mrs. Larkin to like me. :) I think it’s safe to say she doesn’t hate me. Thank the Jesus. I remember having like a break down in her class and she I guess I would say helped me. She just told me to stop crying. Y’all remember that? “I’m a sinner!!” Such good, fun memories. But guess what. This year me and Mrs. Larkin are going to be buddies mark my words. No more Snoop Dog, it’s time for me to get it together. By the way, I still think everyone should invest in Snoop Dog’s Cookbook. That’s besides the point. Welp. My blog is coming to an end now. See you all either tomorrow or when school starts. :)

Y’all. Open house is tomorrow. This summer has gone by so fast. To me it feels like we’ve only been out of school for like a month. I don’t even remember doing anything this summer, haha. Okay. Let’s be real. No one wants to hear a recap of my summer so I’m going to save you from some disaster there. Lord knows I couldn’t organize my writing very well. The good ole interweb has shown me another topic to blog about. And it’s perfect for this occasion. The topic is “Write about your goals for the school year.” First of all, I have to get better at writing because if I don’t get out of this random stuff kind of writing, I’m in trouble. That’s one goal. This school year, id really like to focus on my grades more. Junior year is said to be the hardest year out of all of the years in high school. I’m not too worried about all the pressure and stuff I will be under yet. Another goal I want to achieve is time management. I’m really going to have to get good at time management because this year I’m going to have a lot going on. Let’s see. I’ll have school cheerleading, competition cheerleading, most likely going to be working, I’m in my churches band so those practices, and then church in general. Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s for me will be jam packed with cheer. But I’m gonna make sure I spend enough time on what’s important and get stuff done. Okay. Recapping on the goals I just listed. Focusing on grades and time management. I thought I had listed more. I guess not. Oh wait. I said I want to get better at writing. I wonder how you all read my stuff. It gives me a headache sometimes, haha. I think I’m going to go ahead and end this blog here. This is my 10th one so one More to go!! I’m most likely going to continue talking about goals for the school year. That sounds good to me. Alright. Bye for now!:)

Ella Servadio — Blog 11

In my last blog, I talked about how my little sister made the All-State team. She played really well in the tournament. She got at least four or five base hits, and she walked three times. She also had seven stolen bases. On Friday, she tried out for the All-Regions team. I was not there for it, but my dad said she did really well. I’m guessing she did because she made the team. Fifty-five girls tried out for the team, and they only took nineteen. If you ask me, making that team is a pretty big deal. My little sister is a baller, y’all. She gets to play in Dallas, Texas next weekend. I’m not going to be able to go though. It kind of stinks that I can’t, but I already promised two of my friends that I would go to their tournament. I know if I told them that I was going to my sister’s tournament they would understand, but I really don’t want to make the drive to Dallas. I’ve never been, but everyone tells me the roads are worse than Atlanta. Atlanta is awful, so I can not imagine! Especially considering I would have to ride with McKenzie. I think everyone knows that McKenzie can NOT drive. I mean, she’s not awful, but she’s not very cautious. It’s scary. I almost die every time we make a road trip. I guess I really can’t say much because I don’t drive that’s often. When I do drive, I do pretty good, I think anyway. My mom and dad have both told me that they trust my driving more than hers, so I guess that means I’m the better driver. I’m running out of things to talk about. My life hasn’t been that exciting lately. It’s the end of summer, so I haven’t really made any plans. I’m kind of ready for school to start. I’m not ready for all the work, but I will at least have something to do during the day. Well, I guess that’s all I have to say. I hope you people start doing your blogs and book work this week! It’s going to be tough getting it all done in such a short amount of time, so good luck! See y’all at school in a week!

Hi everyone, so I have been working on the book part of this assignment. I am not totally sure if I am doing it right. Hopefully I am. I have not wrote by hand this much, since school let out. My hand is hating me, so I figured I would take a break from hand writing and write on here for a little bit. Friday I went to Searcy to do some clothes shopping. We went to Hays2. We bought a few shirts and a couple pairs of jeans. Yesterday I had the final horse show of the season. It was fun, but also a little nerve racking. I was in fifth in poles, and fourth in barrels. I had to do good yesterday to still be able to go to the state show. I ended up hitting a barrel and ended up fifth going to state in barrels. I did good in poles placing first, I ended up third going to state. We signed up for the state show last night, which is always expensive. I am excited for this years state show. It is labor day weekend in Little Rock. I am only taking one horse this year, the first time in a couple years. I hope my mare is ready for it. She seems to be ready for it. Today we have just stayed home and played with the dogs. My grandpa is still a little sick so he has been sleeping today. My cat is being annoying as always. Later today, I am going to go to the barn and do a few chores and maybe give my horse a bath, she needs it horribly. I am hoping we can get the trailer floor fixed before state. We are having to haul the little trailer right now, and that is a pain trying to fit everything in the little tack room. My grandpa is a worry wart and believes the worse is going to happen, and it will not be done. Hopefully he is wrong for once. Anyway, I need to go work on the hand writing part of this assignment, have a good day!

Courtney Tucker — #9

Okay so yesterday I indeed did have a lot of free time. I very well could have written the rest of my blogs. But you know what? All I did was sleep. I slept for quite a while actually. I could have went to conditioning yesterday morning but I woke up a minute before it started. That’s all fine and dandy, though. Anyways, today I’m probably about to start on the book part of the summer assignment. It doesn’t look too hard to me. I’ll get it done quick, hopefully. Can any of you believe that open house is next Tuesday?! That’s crazy to me. Like, I have no idea where summer went. I think it’s safe to say ive had a pretty good summer. I don’t really wanna like y’all about my summer as a whole so I’m just going to inform you on what I’m doing today. My parents, my grandparents, and me and Bryce are going to watch the new Fast and Furious. If I’m being honest, I didn’t even know that a new one was coming out. I think it’s going to be a fun night. My mom, sister, and I were planning on going to jonesboro but plans changed. Reasons why I’m writing this. I’m bored, haha. I’m looking into this book thing a little more and it looks a little challenging. I got this, though. No doubt. So another thing has been on my mind. I’ve been listening to A LOT of One Direction these past couple of weeks. I believe they should get back together. Now, I’m 100% not a true fan. I couldn’t tell you why they broke up. I couldn’t tell you who is singing when in each song. But I definitely can jam out to every single song. I think my all time favorite song by One Direction would have to be Kiss You. You all should go give it a listen. I love how unorganized my blogs are. Most of everyone has like one thing they’re talking about throughout the whole thing but not me. I’m kind of all over the place. That’s okay, though, in my eyes. Talk to you in my next blog!

Ella Servadio — Blog 10

This week was a pretty good week. Monday and Tuesday were kind of boring. All I really did was watch my boyfriend and his brother work on their race cars. Wednesday, I babysat for Logan’s brother. Well, babysitting a three year old turned into babysitting a four year old, too. I ended up having to pick up my little cousin from little cheer camp, which I didn’t mind. My cousin and Elly play really well together, so it was easy watching them. On the way back from picking up Kyndalyn, I stopped and got them happy meals. They ended up opening them in the car and got crumbs everywhere! I was kind of irritated, but then they said “We’re so sorry, Mo.” That’s enough to not make you mad at them anymore. After they ate, we went swimming. Logan’s dad recently purchased water guns for the pool, so the girls attacked me with them. After we swam, I took them to get snow cones. That was an adventure because they had to hold their own in the car. They didn’t spill them though, thank the Lord. I pretty much spoiled them all day. When it was time for them to go home, they both cried because they wanted to stay with me. It was sweet. Thursday, I didn’t really do much. Friday, my little cousin had a pep rally for little cheer camp. She was so cute! She ended up getting the best dance award because she has so much character. When she finished, I asked her what he favorite part was, and she said “doing the stinky leg.” That wasn’t even a part of her actual routine, but that’s what stuck with her, haha! I’m so proud of her for doing so good though. She performs again Thursday night, but she gets to perform on the football field this time. I think she’ll love that. But right now, I’m on my to Conway. My little sister made the All-State team, so I’m going to watch her play. She better do good, or I’m going to be mad. She hasn’t really been hitting the ball well lately, so she better step it up this weekend. I’ll let y’all know how it goes in my next blog!
