blog 10 -lexi hall
Here goes blog number 10, and I have no idea what I’m going to write about because I’m running out of ideas. Luckily, I only have one more of these to write to have my summer assignment completed. Summer has flown by, literally feels like 2 weeks ago summer was just beginning and now it’s over. Last weekend I went to Nashville and it was sooo much fun! Country music is everywhere in that city, which is one reason why I loved it so much! My favorite genre of music is country, so seeing how it got started and how the first country artist made it big was amazing. Little Big Town is a pretty popular band now, but they were shot down twice when they were trying to get their first single big. Most people that know them now probably wouldn’t have realized that, at least I didn’t know that. Country music has been around for decades, and it has varied so much over the years. The country music today doesn’t even sound like what it did in the 50’s. Technology has became more advanced, so the music sounds better than it used to. Technology isn’t the only thing that changed country music. The rythm and beats have all changed the way it sounds too. Today, the music is more pop sounding that what it was in the 50’s. I’m thankful that country music has advanced like it has because it’s some of my favorite music to listen to. Driving down the road I either have the radio on 104.9 or I’m playing it off my phone. Either way, country music is always being played when I’m in my car. Every now and then I need to listen to pop because pop is the genre of the generation we live in. If I’m not listening to country though, then I’m listening to contemporary music because Jesus music gets you going. I can turn the radio up and jam for the whole car ride to wherever I’m going. Listening to music is an escape that can put me into a better mood. Most memories are made jammin in the car with friends. Music is seriously the best therapy.
