forgiveness -Faith Brooks(15)
"For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you." Matthew 6:14
Forgiveness is one of the hardest things for me to do. Even though it means so much to God and to the other person, I let anger distract me every time. I try really hard to forget about my grudges and focus on the good things about the person I'm mad at, but I always let the mistake they made get in the way of it. It's hard to forgive someone who has hurt you by doing things like lying, saying bad things about you to other people, or trying to ruin some aspect of your life. But, forgiveness is way more important than anything anyone has done to you. God tells us that if we don't forgive others for their sins, He won't forgive us for ours. Pleasing Him and meeting him in Heaven is what inspires me the most to forgive people. In most situations, the people I dislike don't like me either and they don't regret doing what they did to me, which makes it so much harder to forgive them. I've been getting a lot better at forgiving people, though. I don't have a problem with anyone anymore, but I haven't gotten the guts to tell the people I wronged or that wronged me that I'm sorry and I forgive them. So, to anyone reading this who thinks I don't like them or who doesn't like me, I forgive you and I hope you forgive me. What happened in the past is in the past and it doesn't matter anymore. I'm sorry for anything I might've done or said to you out of anger. Being a good christian and not having enemies is very important to me, so I hope we can put all of this past us.

Super Summer Arkansas--Karlee Sanders
Super Summer Arkansas always leaves me truly
blessed. I love spending a week fellowshipping with other Christians and
learning many new things.
I learned this past week at Super Summer Arkansas
that in order to live a life that pleases Christ, I have to relentlessly pursue
him as he relentlessly has pursued, is pursuing, and will pursue me. I learned
that God does not regret saving me. That was particularly powerful to me this
week. He doesn't regret sending His Son to die so that everyone on earth might
live. Even when I'm down in the dumps, God is there saying, "That's my
child." Even when I'm in sin and I'm ignoring his whisper, he doesn't
forget that I surrendered my life to him at the age of 6. My salvation will
never go away. God doesn't regret adopting me, because he loves me. Something
else that stood out to me was that ever since I received salvation, that the
same Spirit (the Holy Spirit) dwells in me that dwelt in the hearts of Paul, of
John the Baptist, and of Peter. The same Spirit that made Ruth such a virtuous
woman is living in me, of all people, and it will never leave. Let me emphasize
that again, the same Spirit that lived in the heart of Moses, Noah, David, and
any other child of Christ is living inside of me. It's miraculous, and I am not
worthy. I learned that we cannot be holy apart from Him. I learned that no
matter what, that God is always by my side. I don't have to feel alone. And
through worship I learned that I belong to Jesus. I sang a song that said these
words, "I've never felt so found, than when I'm lost in You." That
statement about the Lord is amazing. I was lost in sin and shame until I came
to know my Savior. And since I have done that, I can immerse myself in God. I
can read Scripture with understanding, pray knowing that God hears, and sing
knowing that there's an even bigger worship service going on in Heaven as we
speak. When I am lost in God's grace and my cup is overflowing, I'm exactly
where I'm supposed to be, found and saved by Jesus Christ.
I
am so thankful for my experience at Super Summer. I am so thankful for a Savior
who loves me even when I am dirty and unclean before Him.
My Morning Routine--Karlee Sanders
I know this is kinda lame but I have nothing else to write about. Anyways, this is a routine for what I do on a normal lazy morning when I have to do something later in the day.
So, first thing's first, I wake up. Usually, I hit the snooze button about a bajillion times, but who doesn't? Then, I do my quiet time. This is a time of prayer, scripture reading, taking notes, and trying to memorize what I read. Next, I lay in my bed (usually not putting my glasses on like I'm supposed to) and look at my phone. I don't really have a special routine for what I do on my phone for this time, which is anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour. Sometimes I watch Instagram videos. Other times I read the Snapchat Discover stories of Buzzfeed, Cosmopolitan, Refinery29, and my most recent favorite, Daily Mail. In this time I also answer any texts or snapchats that I missed while I was asleep. After getting done looking at my phone, I get out of bed. I'm not one to make my room look nice every morning, so my bed is left unmade. I walk to the bathroom, where I wash my face (if I remember), brush my teeth (I always remember), and put my contacts in. Then, I go back to my room and put on clothes for the day. While this is happening, I put music on and do a little morning dance. I'm not really a grumpy morning person, but music helps me get into a better mood. Following that, I put on makeup. My makeup routine is something I never forget, because I wear makeup just about every day. I put on primer, foundation, concealer, powder, blush, eyeshadow, curl my lashes, put on mascara, and then finish with lipstick. Then I do my hair. I have a handful of hairstyles I normally choose from. These are a side braid, straight & half up, wavy & a small ponytail at the top, wavy & half up, a bun, or a ponytail. Sometimes I make my mom French braid my hair. After my hair is done, I move on to putting perfume and deodorant on, because who doesn't need to smell good? Lastly, I gather whatever I need for the day and head to the kitchen, where I shove food in my face to complete my morning.

Larry and I do hot yoga Sydney Adams 6
After joking about it on various occasions, a little bit of research and the abandonment of anything that resembled shame, Larry and I decided to partake in the journey that is hot yoga.
For those who are unaware of just what hot yoga is, its bending and stretching your body in unfathomable ways in a dark room that is heated to 100 degrees while a very chill yogi plays Christian jams and tells you whats up. or at least that was our experience.
This exciting exercising expedition began with a 6 am wake up call, a pep talk, a list of precautions and things to bring, a cranky, foodless drive to downtown Jonesboro and finally arriving to a class at the nirvana yoga studio consisting of all women-young and old-with the exception of a very limber, very serious, very old man who had done his fair share of hot yoga.
We removed our shoes, rented our mats and groggily tried to converse with other fetus yogis and entered into the furnace. Okay, it wasn't a furnace yet because we actually turned on the heaters as we picked our spots but it certainly wasn't cool. We unpacked our towels and put on our brave faces as the instructor began. First, it was easy stuff like childs pose and downward facing dog but gradually we became unbalanced, knotted masses. A perk to yoga is that though it isn't exactly easy it is very repetitive which helps you master each pose or at least learn to stay upright. After an hour we were stanky and starved but relaxed and happy.
All in all hot yoga was definitely an adventure with a positive pay off. And a very convenient excuse to eat lots of Chinese food following. I really enjoyed it and i don't like any form of exercise so that's saying a lot. Even Larry said he had fun, despite the fact he told me not to tell anyone he did yoga. Its not for wimps of those prone to excessive sweating seeing as it would probably cause slipping or something like that. Its completely worth the 10 dollars and you might actually find that youre a yogi at heart.
Things you should know before doing hot yoga:
bring a towel, a change of clothes and A LOT of water
its called hot yoga for a reason
everyone sucks at yoga so don't feel self conscious
most classes are open level meaning its ideal for beginners but challenging enough for experienced folk
bring your own mat unless you want to rent one that has been contaminated by the sweat and tears of unprepared yogis before you
they are very small classes
you probably wont be able to do everything
you're also going to wobble and maybe even fall
its definitely worth trying
BONUS: IT FEELS COLD OUTSIDE WHEN YOU LEAVE BECAUSE ITS SO HOT IN THERE.

My Dream Job: Haven Robertson
I've always admired people who always strive to help other humans because that is what I have always wanted to do. My dream job consists of helping and saving newborn babies. I want to be a Neonatal Nurse, also called a NICU nurse. If you know me, you know that I love kids/babies and I also love to help people. So, this would be the perfect job for me.
NICU stands for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. NICU nurses work with the tiniest and sickest newborn infants until they are discharged from the hospital. The infants could have problems ranging from being premature, birth defects, infections, cardiac malformations, and even surgical problems. Neonatal nurses are responsible for many tasks. These include oxygen administration, provide medications and perform special procedures, change diapers, and just all around care for the infants that the nurses are responsible for during their shift. These nurses have to have a numerous amount of skills and are highly trained. NICU nurses also provide around the clock care.
The first step to becoming a neonatal nurse is first becoming a registered nurse and either getting an associates degree(2-3 years) or getting a bachelors degree(4 years). Next, I would have to become licensed by completing a nursing program and taking the (NCLEX-RN) exam for registered nurses. After that, I would have to gain experience in pediatrics by interning or working in a hospital's nursery. Lastly, I would have to become certified in neonatal nursing. This information was found at http://www.learnhowtobecome.org/nurse/neonatal-nurse/
The demand for NICU nurses is extremely high. If I become a neonatal nurse, I would have to work in a hospital that has a neonatal intensive care unit, such as Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, AR. NICU nurses average $40 per hour and have a salary of $83,892 per year.
I am very passionate about this career because I was in the NICU for 17 days due to a birth defect that lead to me becoming premature. I want to give helpless infants a chance of having a full life. I hope to achieve my goal of becoming a neonatal nurse someday.
Lake Trip Gone Wrong...-Wesley Jordan (#10)
About two hours ago I got back from Mountain View. We have a camper up in Mountain View with our own ground by it. Down a little ways from where our camper is there is a little creek that you can float, swim, and enjoy a great time with family and friends. Well this year we decided that the creek is getting a little boring that we would adventure to the Norfork Lake. So we went out and bought a used pontoon at the beginning of the year with my parents high school friends. It wasn't a bad looking bought after we got it cleaned up. The motor on it needed some work but we got it all fixed up and it worked like a charm!
So on June 25th 2016, we decided that we would go out on the lake. It was only nine of us that went on the lake that day. The pontoon started up great after we left the dock and everything. We went and got some gas for the pontoon and we set of to some cliffs. We got to the cliffs and we all jumped off of them a few times and had a great time doing so. But then we decided that we would go somewhere else, into one of the coves. We were in the cove where no one but us were at. We swam for about a hour or more and I started to get bored. So I suggested that we would go to the cliff again.
Everyone climbs onto the pontoon and my dad was fixing to take off. When he tried to start it, it wouldn't start. Him and one of his friends worked on it for about 30 min and it still wouldn't work. So we called the closest marina to come out and help us. They told us it would be TWO HOURS before they would be able to come and help us out. We couldn't tell them exactly where we were because there are a lot of coves on the lake. So we pulled and pushed our boat out to the middle of the lake so that when they came after two hours they would be able to see us.
They finally came and helped us out and we go back to our dock. We got into the truck and started off back to our camp ground. It was a long and tiring day setting on the lake all day. But I am thankful that we were safe and that we got back to the camp ground. Adios pontoon, I'm never riding on you again.

do you believe in... -Faith Brooks(13)
do you believe in...
aliens? well, this one is sort of half and half. I could see aliens being possible because of water being found on other planets and I'm sure we haven't searched every inch of every planet, so. on the other hand, these aliens would have to be really advanced to only need water to survive, and also really good hiders because they've never been spotted. also, the whole UFO concept confuses me because where would they get the materials? it's not like they have random tools and metal laying around on Mars. I guess they could be stealing satellites and stuff that astronauts send out into space, but that would be really hard. if there are aliens, that's freaky, but maybe they'll come in peace and build places in space that we can visit or something
ghosts? I definitely believe in ghosts. sometimes I have dreams with people who have passed in them and I think that's their spirit visiting me. also, some people are lucky enough to see a ghost of someone they loved who passed, just to say goodbye or visit. I haven't gotten the privilege of seeing any of my passed loved ones, but I'm sure everyone does at least once in their life
superpowers? maybe not anything like laser vision, but I believe that some people might have hidden strengths like really good hearing or vision or even being psychic
love at first sight? maybe attraction because of first sight, but love? nah. you have go get to know a person and see how they act to know if you love them. seeing someone and instantly loving them doesn't really happen unless you're reallyyyyy desperate
superstitions? very much, yes. I believe in the whole nine yards. knock on wood, walking under a ladder is bad luck, don't pick up a penny unless it's on heads, etc.

relationships -Faith Brooks(12)
Relationships make the world go round. Love, loyalty, trust, someone to be there for you... all of that is so important in life. The most important parts of a relationship are, like I just said, love, loyalty, and mostly trust. Trust is important in a relationship because loving someone requires it. Sticking with someone, keeping their secrets, and being comfortable with someone all require trust. In highschool, relationships are hard. There are so many things that go into a relationship when you're in highschool. So many factors that can break you up or test you. These factors include: cheating, lying, drama, moving, graduating, deciding where to go to college/if you'll go to college together, fights, immaturity, etc. Teenagers are said to not know anything about love, but I think we do. Right now, I love my boyfriend, but I have to be honest and say that things do get hard sometimes. But, for the past year, six months & three days, we've loved eachother and made it through every bump in the road. My biggest worry for our relationship is going to college. Will we get into the same ones? Do we want to go to the same colleges? Where could we move where we would both be happy? We talk about it a lot(I tend to run things into the ground when I'm worried about them), and we've both considered a lot of different places, but all I can really do is pray about it, because everything is in God's plan. Anyways, relationships can be hard, but they are also so beautiful and fun. Finding someone who's your bestfriend and your boyfriend is just such an amazing feeling to have. I'm really comfortable and open with Dillon. I know I can tell him anything and he won't tell anyone, I know I can ugly-laugh infront of him and he won't make fun of me, I know that every time we're together is going to be a good time, etc. Being single can be fun because of the freedom, but being in a relationship with sharing, kindness, fun, and someone to share your life with is unexplainable.

fears -Faith Brooks(10)
fears
1. whales. it seems silly, but they're really really really huge and it freaks me out. big animals freak me out in general. big bears, elephants, big fish, especially big sea creatures
2. heights. heights don't freak me out too bad, but standing close to the edge of something(on top of a big building against a rail, etc) it freaks me out
3. car wrecks. car wrecks are probably my biggest fear because you can do everything in your power to drive good and not do anything to risk wrecking, but other people are just as responsible for your life as you are when you're driving. drunk drivers, texting while driving, anything that can cause someone to wreck can be fatal for that person and anyone around them
4. moving away for college. moving away for college really scares me because my family and my friends are my heart, and when I have to be far away from them, I won't know what to do and I won't have anyone to talk to. being without the people I love scares me to death
5. the dark. childish, I know, but the possibilities of things that could be in the dark are endless. plus, I watch a lot of scary movies
6. leaving my closet open when I go to bed. again, childish, but just watch Amityville Horror and you'll know why an open closet scares me(for those who don't like scary movies, a scary little girl's ghost hides in a closet and haunts a family)
7. spiders omg(I don't think I have to explain this one)
8. public speaking. I'm always afraid I'm gonna sound stupid or stutter or try to make a joke and no one laughs, so I got oral comm over with last year and I'm getting my college credit oral comm over with next year
9. death. this is another big one. death is scary for endless reasons that I don't feel like listing

Baby Nurse πΆπ» -Faith Brooks(7)
A neonatal nurse is a nurse that focuses on babies that are born prematurely or with health problems. I'm considering being a neonatal nurse because I want to serve a purpose while I'm alive, and I think doing something as meaningful as saving babies would definitely give me purpose. To be a neonatal nurse, you have to get a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree, get certified in neonatal resuscitation or neonatal intensive care nursing, pass the National Council Licensure Examination, etc. These nurses have to have critical thinking skills, patience, attention to detail, teaching skills(to teach the parents how to properly take care of their baby), compassion, and they must be able to control their emotions, considering some patients pass away. According to study.com, a neonatal nurse's duties include "administering medications, monitoring vital signs and providing vital nutrients to newborns. Because most premature and sick newborns' lungs are not fully developed, NICU RNs must ensure that infants are breathing and maturing properly. These specialized nurses work with upper-level nurses and physicians and assist in treatment plans and examinations. They keep, maintain and update records of the patient's care. In addition to medical care, NICU RNs communicate with and educate parents on day-to-day operations as well as home-care procedures." In my opinion, neonatal nurses are among the most important people in the medical field because they keep tiny humans alive. The babies that they save can grow up to be anything or anyone. One of them might save the world, one of them might be the next Albert Einstein, one of them might invent things, one of them might even become a neonatal nurse. If I got the chance to be a neonatal nurse, I would be so honored to spend the rest of my life helping babies survive and helping their parents take care of them. Being someone who saves, takes care of, and monitors tiny little babies would mean the world to me.

Things I Love About You - Shailey Wooldridge
THIS IS A CONTINUATION OF MY LAST BLOG POST CALLED THINGS I LIKE ABOUT YOU FROM THE BOYS POINT OF VIEW. ENJOY, OR DON'T ENJOY. I DON'T REALLY CARE.
Dear you know who,
Dear you know who,
I found your letter, a tad bit late. I'll have to say, you were always good at hiding Christmas and birthday presents. But a letter in an envelope with my name on it in bold letters,,,, just laying on your desk at your mothers house in plain sight. Not exactly your best work..... I went to look for you, in case your mom didn't mention that to you. I did, and you weren't there and I couldn't get her to tell me where you went. I'm not very persuasive, that was always more of your area of expertise. Had me fooled for months that you were fine and we were fine and everything was just fine.
But I still love you.
That's why I'm writing this. Unlike you I knew my goal before I sat down to write. I love you. I have since the moment I saw you in the grocery store struggling to get a can of spaghetti-o's off of the top shelf. I love you because you sing a little too loud in the shower. I love you because I know you miss him, even though you'd rather drop dead than admit that. I love you because I've always been one for adventure but you showed me an entirely new world that I didn't even know existed. Now that I've gotten a taste of that world I can never go back to the one I was living in before. Not without you. I cannot go back to a reality that doesn't have you sitting on the kitchen counter and playing an air guitar when there's not even any music playing.
And I hate you for it.
Contradicting yourself is your thing, but ever since you left without as much as a goodbye I find myself doing it all the time. I hate you because I won't ever look at cigarettes the same way again because of you and your stupid love of dumb metaphors from dumb books that are stupidly sad and dumbly overrated. I hate you because you left a dirty shirt in my hamper and it still smells like you after all this time and I can't bring myself to throw it out because then it'll seem more real than it already is. I hate you because you changed your phone number. I hate you for leaving. I hate you because I have the stupid engagement ring in my bottom drawer and while you were worried about it not lasting I was planning for forever.
But I'm also really sorry.
I should've put more work in, I knew how insecure you were, or how insecure you are. I'm not sure I really know you anymore. I should've taken more time to get you comfortable with my past. I'm a big mystery and I'm incredibly sorry for that. I'm sorry I didn't make the time to make you happy.. with me. It's not entirely your fault for leaving when I didn't do everything I could to let you know you were welcome.
And I'm also really scared.
I'm really scared that you were the one but I wasn't.

Summer has Begun -Hattie
For the
past three to four weeks all I have done is played basketball. We had camps
pretty much every day except Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. I am not
complaining about this, but during those weeks I haven’t been able to do all of
the things I usually do during summer. However, now that camps are over I can
start doing things. So, for the next two months of summer I plan on going to
the lake, playing lots of tennis, relaxing, and hanging out with friends.
Going to
the lake is pretty much an every summer thing for my family. We always have
tons of fun water skiing, tubing, and kayaking. We also have a zip line, a
basketball goal, and a badminton set. So, we are always doing something. The
food is also a lot better at the lake. I don’t know why but it is.
I also
plan on playing a lot of tennis with my brother and the other tennis players.
Tennis is just a fun sport. I love just going up to the courts to hang out with
my teammates and to just get better at the sport we love.
Relaxing
is one of the major things I am keying on this summer. I never have much time
to just relax; therefore, I don’t take the time I do have for granted. I love
just laying down and watching Netflix or a good movie. I also read some but not
as much as I should.
I do
plan on hanging out with my friends this summer too. Some of the girls in my
youth group and I are really good friends so we try to get together often. We
have a lot of movie nights and we even have a lake trip planned. I love hanging
out with the girls from my youth group. I also plan on spending time with my
friends from school, whether it be movie nights or trips to Jonesboro.
Now
that my summer has finally begun, I plan on making the most of it. This summer
is going to be the best one yet.

TURTLE CREEK IS UNFAIR! SECURITY GUARDS ARE IN THERE! STANDING AT THE CONCESSION! PLOTTING THEIR OPPRESSION! -- Karlee Sanders
Did you know that if you’re doing a scavenger hunt in the
Turtle Creek Mall with your friends, you’re breaking the rules? Because I sure
didn’t. So listen up here, buddy boy, because I have a story to tell. I went to
Jonesboro on the fine day of June the eighteenth in the year of two thousand
and sixteen. (Yes, I just spelled out the date. Do you have a problem with
that? No? Didn’t think so, pal.) I was with my very close friends Sydney,
Mattie, and Sam. Oh, and Larry. Anyways, we had a scavenger hunt in Target and
had a lot of fun. I was on a team with Mattie and Sam. Unfortunately, we lost
miserably to Sydney and Larry. We decided it would be more fair to split the
victorious power couple up as team captains, so I ended up on a team with
Larry. We also decided that since we had already done a scavenger hunt in
Target, that we should choose a different list to play by, and that we should
move into the mall. Well, let me tell you something. We obviously made the
wrong choice. Larry and I set off to complete the hunt before Mattie, Sam, and
Sydney could. We were doing a fantastic job of getting the list completed. We
took many glorious selfies to prove that we found what the list was asking for.
This is where things started to get hairy. One of the things we had to do was
to take a picture with a security guard. When you hear the words, “security
guard” any normal person would think of the hilarious movie starring Kevin
James, Mall Cop, and would assume that all mall security officers are as nice
and friendly as Paul Blart. Larry and I had that exact same stereotype in our
heads as we made our way over to the seemingly nice mall cop. (Who, might I add,
kind of resembled Paul Blart.) Larry proceeded to ask him if we could take a
selfie with him. The mall cop’s face turned into an instant frown. He harshly
scolded, “THERE ARE NO SCAVENGER HUNTS IN THE MALL AND YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO
TAKE PICTURES IN THE MALL.” To this, Larry and I responded with a polite, “Okay.”
and continued on our way. But in my mind, I was appalled. Why would any mall
prevent such fun? Larry and I decided to ignore his command in an attempt to
protest. We took a picture with that awful security guard when he had his back
turned, and won the scavenger hunt.
HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES, TURTLE CREEK MALL SECURITY?

Super Summer -- Karlee Sanders
Tomorrow I leave for a camp called Super Summer Arkansas.
I've been going to Super Summer for four years. This will be my fifth year at
camp! Super Summer is a Baptist church camp in which students from all over
Arkansas come to unite and worship God. The camp is put on two times, three
days for junior high (JV Super Summer), and 5 days for senior high (Super
Summer Arkansas). It is hosted by Ouachita Baptist University.
If you're a junior high camper, you are assigned a Prime
Time group (Prime Times are named 1-6.). If you’re a senior high camper, you’re
assigned a School. (Schools are named the colors red, yellow, green, blue,
camo, and orange.) There are six groups in all, and there are about 1500
campers usually, so Prime Times and Schools are usually filled with around 250
campers. Prime Times and Schools compete all during the week for awards, which
are rewarded at the end of the week. The Spirit Award is the holy grail of Super
Summer awards, I kid you not. The Spirit award is given to the Prime Time or
School who has the most spirit all week. Competitions for this are done on the
recreation field and in the cafeteria. The Recreation Award is the second best
award. Recreation is a bunch of games which all campers compete in to earn
points. The team with the most points at the end of the week wins! Lastly,
there’s the Decibel Award. The team who is the loudest at the competitions
during lunchtime wins. Campers are also assigned a staffer. Staffers are
college students who volunteer to be camp counselors for the week. Each staffer
is assigned 12 or 13 kids to bond with and talk deeper about what is learned in
the Prime Time or School group sessions. Staffers often create lasting
relationships with the campers in their groups.
Super Summer also offers an amazing worship experience. Each
night, campers go to Big Church. In Big Church, a band (This year it’s the Digital
Age!) leads the campers in worship. There are many raised hands and voices
proclaiming God’s praise. Following worship, a preacher (This year its Ed
Newton!) preaches the Gospel and leads many kids to Christ. Super Summer is
truly an amazing experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a
good time in Christ.

Father's Day- Wesley Jordan (#8)
Father's Day is a day that is set aside for kids to honor their father. This Father's Day me and my Dad put together his new grill that he got for Father's Day. He had planned to use the grill to day to grill out for his Dad and for our neighbors. So around three o'clock we had my Grandpa come over and our neighbors come over to honor them. After we ate and visited together, my Grandpa left. We went over to our neighbors house to swim and have a great time with each other.
This was a great day but now it is coming to a end. We only have one day that is set aside for all of our father's. We should have more than one day set aside for our great father's that provide for us and gives to us. I do realize that not everyone has a father figure in there life. Some of our father's have passed away, but others just don't have anything to do with us. But for the father figures that we do have in our lives should get more than one day to get honored.
As for my Dad, he is a really great Dad and I am very thankful that I have him in my life. He would do ANYTHING for me. He would even take a bullet for me and I am very thankful that I get to call Chris Jordan my Dad.
Sometimes I do things that disappoints him. I wish I can take back all of the things that has made him mad, upset, or disappointed him. Because he is a really great person, not only to me but to my sister, my Mon, and his family members.
So I hope everyone that has a father figure in their life got to spend some time with their father. And I hope that all of the father's out there had a really great day getting gifts and spending time with there kids. Remember to cherish all the moments that you get to spend with your Dad.

Pricila - Brittany Tucker (#4)
Pricila grumbled something under
her breath as she swept a hand through her bubblegum-pink hair.
“Pricila! Where are you?” She ignored her mother, staying silent as she messed with her hair, pulling to one shoulder and braiding it, letting it rest down her back.
“Pricila, please come back! I didn't mean it!” her father shouted.
As silently as she could, she moved further away from them. She glanced to Gwen, who resided on her body in tattoo form. Gwen refused to speak for the last little bit, confusing her master greatly. The dragon was usually very talkative.
Gwen? Are you okay? Why aren't you speaking? Pricila mentally asked, brushing aside a large leaf as she continued through the dense forest to avoid her parents.
Gwen was silent for a moment more before answering. Mistress, I advised you to tell them about him before you two decided to marry. Not after. You knew how what your parents would say—especially when you're in an arranged marriage to another man.
Pricila glared at the dragon tattoo on her arm. Shut up, Gwendolyn. You said no such thing.
Gwen huffed at the use of her full name, revealing her true form. Pricila studied her for a moment. Shoulder-length, cherry-red hair and brown, almond-shaped eyes coupled with her height, allowing her to stand over Pricila by a good six inches or so.
Pricila looked away, moving on. She didn't remember Gwen saying anything, which means it didn't happen. Stupid dragon. I can take of myself. I don't care if my parents hired you to protect me. I don't need protection.
Gwen chuckled scornfully. Princess, if you knew how to take care of yourself, I wouldn’t be here. But, you don’t, so here I am. You’re original marriage is to a commoner to help your village. He can help a lot more than the prince you want to marry can. I promise.
Pricila said nothing to reply as Gwen reappeared on her arm. Pricila wasn’t the easiest girl to get along with, clearly. She was stubborn, clumsy, and outright rude. Sometimes Gwen wondered why the Prince of Eralyn agreed to marry her. He was a decent, honest, and overly apologetic man.
They were opposites.
Polar opposites.
Yet, they got along very well.
Pricila would quiet down, and Prince Jonas would take over their conversation. Pricila would trip; Prince Jonas would catch her. Prince Jonas would back down as a mob formed; Pricila would take control and calm them down.
Gwen paused. Perhaps Pricila was right about wanting to marry him over the commoner. She had plans to abdicate her throne anyways, giving it her sister, Charlotte. Gwen still thought she should’ve told her parents about it though.
They hadn’t met Prince Jonas, and didn’t want their eldest daughter—Princess of Colox—marrying some man, prince or not, without meeting him. King Peter and Queen Molly truly had their daughter’s safety at the forefront of their minds, and wanted her safe. Princess Pricila didn’t care about her safety, and just wanted to get married and away from them.
Gwen nodded to herself. The members of the Royal Family were overbearingly protective of Pricila, so Gwen could see why she wanted to get away. It wasn’t like there would be no one to take the throne. They still had Charlotte.
She sighed, shifting slightly on Pricila’s arm.
Prince Jonas would be a good man to Princess Pricila. They just needed to get the King and Queen to see that.

Weather- Wesley Jordan (#7)
Arkansas weather is probably the most confusing weather that has ever existed. I don't understand how the weather men predict this weather that we have. One minute it's is sunny and pretty and then the next minute is gross and wet. If you ask me, I will always tell you that you that I would prefer it to be cold outside. The reason is, if it's cold outside, you can put on sweatpants, shirt, hoodie, and a lot of other things to make you stay warm. Now when it is hot outside. The only thing that you can do is go inside where there is air conditioning. You can't take of your shirt or shorts when you get hot outside. I have always said that when it is cold outside and you have a lot of layers of cloths on and you get hot, you can take layers off. But you cant do that in the summer. Now don't get me wrong. I LOVE SUMMER. I love swimming with my friends, I love how pretty it is outside, and I especially like how we get out of school for the summer. Swimming is my favorite thing to do. But then again when I'm outside just walking to my vehicle or just going into the store or something, It gets hot and hot fast at that. Another reason that I would rather it be cold outside is because I really like to wear sweat pants. Sweat pants are probably my favorite thing to wear, except for long sleeve t-shirt. The last reason would defiantly have the snow. I really like the snow. I love how we get out of school for a day when it gets real bad, and we go to our friends house and get to stay there all day playing in the snow and enjoying the day with friends. So if you were to ask me, I would tell you without thinking about it, that I wish it would be winter so that I was not hot all the time.
A Series of Failed Attempts - Kim Wilson (7)
It started off as a bet. Honest. How was I supposed to know that citizens would actually vote for me? I ran as a joke, I completely faked half of my campaign, yet here I was sitting in the Oval Office trying to wrap my mind around the predicament I was in. When I decided to run for President, it was because my friend bet me $500 I wouldn't do it, and I'm known for never turning down a bet. That's also another reason why people shouldn't have voted for me. I mean, who would want a gambler as the President?
As I sat in the desk, I thought about how I was going to waste the next four years of my life on people who will most likely hate me; it was in that moment that I decided to do something about it.
I was already sworn in. What could I do to get out of this? I could always resign but then Harry would probably take back the money, and I already spent half of it. Then it came to me: I could get impeached. In that moment, I decided to declare war on Canada. They would have to impeach me. I mean, who declares war on Canada? A bad President, that's who declares war on Canada. Of course I couldn't declare war myself, I had to appeal to Congress about it, but I could always go on television live and say we were planning on declaring war on Canada. After the interview, I checked all social media. My plan was going great. Everyone was tweeting that I was the worst President ever. Some people said I should be arrested, but I already got that worked out. Everything was going accordingly until the secret was discovered.
"President Jadson saves America," the article read. The article went into detail about how Canada was secretly planning to nuke D.C. The article portrayed me as a hero. Everyone thought I was really good at my job, but I really was just trying to get out of the job. How was I supposed to know what Canada was up to? What could I possibly do now?
After my first failed attempt at impeachment, I decided to do something awful. I planned to do something so heinous, I could possibly be assassinated: I was going to ban Doritos. This had to make people want me out of office. What kind of President bans Doritos? Banning Doritos is totally a "high crime." I would be taking away people's happiness.
Once again, my plan had worked...until it didn't. The banning Doritos tweet got everyone in an uproar. "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, PRESIDENT JADSON?" one read. "Idk who this guys thinks he is but you can't just ban Doritos," read another. Then, once again, another article is released:
"President Jadson does it again!" It was titled. This article described how scientists have been studying affects of Doritos and it was the number one cause of cancer. The process of producing Doritos was also the number one cause of global warming. "Scientists were hesitant about when to release the data, but with recent occurrences, they decided to back President Jadson in the ban of Doritos. We don't know how he's doing it, but President Jadson is fixing America's problems one by one," it read.
"Oh, great." I slammed my head on the desk. I guess I must have put a little too much force into it, because suddenly Vice President Brown walked in. What was his first name? Andrew? Anthony?
"Are you okay? I've noticed you've acting strange lately," he said.
"Acting strange," I muttered to myself. Then it hit me. I slammed my hands on the desk, "That's it!"
"I'm just going to leave now," said Brown as he awkwardly walked out of the room.
Everyone loved Brown! All I had to do was accuse him of something, get him arrested, and the boom! I'll be impeached. It would totally work.
Once more my plan worked...until it didn't. I accused Brown of sneaking money into his account. The police investigated him and found he was not guilty of the crimes I accused him of. People were once again in an uproar. "YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS BECAUSE BROWN IS HOT AND YOU'RE NOT," a tweet read. There were many more, and many worse ones. I was so proud of myself, I was finally going to be impeached. Then it happened. They discovered something awful about Brown.
"President Jadson does it include again! Although he was off on the charges of Vice President Brown, he was still right about Brown's sketchy character. Investigators revealed that Brown was instead crooked as Jadson had said. Brown was working undercover to give America's secrets to Canada. He was the leader of Canada nuking D.C. How does Jadson do it?"
"Oh, come on!" I yelled at my computer screen. What does someone have to do to get impeached? Every time I try, I just fail! Maybe I was stuck as president.

What is Kindness? -- Karlee Sanders
What is kindness? By definition, kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. It's a desirable quality amongst friends, peers, family, and romantic partners. To me, kindness is something that everyone should strive to have. It's the glue that holds relationships together. For instance, you can't make a friend without being nice to them first. People who show kindness are liked more than people who are crabby and mean. It's just that simple. If you're mean, people won't like you. Would you like to be friends with a kind person, or a mean person? I'll let you think that one over.
Quite often I hear the saying, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." That saying helps to explain why kindness is so important, it helps build people up, not break them down. Kindness comes from within, and if your mind isn't making any kind comments toward another human being, then maybe you shouldn't say anything at all. I'm not here to be the mom blog-poster, but that saying is certainly something I agree with.
Kindness is also defined as a kind act. When you do a kindness for someone, you are helping them or doing something pleasant for that person. I'm sure that you've heard the phrase, "a random act of kindness". These random acts are anything from paying for someone's meal, surprising a stranger with a gift, or simply holding the door for someone just because you feel like being polite. Many people say that these random acts of kindness restore their faith in humanity as a whole. Kindnesses reassure others that there still is good in the world, despite all the negative influences.
So, if you've read this far, I encourage you to be kind today. Play nice and don't be petty or mean. Try to do something kind for someone else. Og Mandino once said, "Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again."

Monotone - Brittany Tucker (#3)
Ethan's eyes widen as he risks a glance to Blair,
no longer hearing her play. He turns back to the sheet music, quickly figuring
out where they were at in the song. Maybe she got lost. She is playing this
from memory after all.
Measure 50.
They were only halfway through the song!
He risks another glance, seeing her turning to him, tears in her large hazel eyes. She's mouthing something to him that he can only barely read from her pale pink lips.
"I can't hear anything."
The audience is distraught, murmuring to themselves about Blair.
Blair fluidly moves back to him, reading her notes over his shoulder. Ethan panics, his fingers speeding up to catch up with her erratic vibrato. She's not in the right place, skipping to the end of the song.
She's silently saying something with her music that Ethan can clearly hear. Help me. Please.
The song finishes as Ethan plays the last chord, letting it ring loudly. It silences the raving listeners. Ethan quickly guides the still crying Blair off stage.
As soon as they're alone, she collapses into his arms, becoming a sobbing mess. Ethan can do little to comfort her. He listens as she speaks to him, whispering his replies.
Blair Sauveterre was tone deaf. His best friend couldn't hear music.
As a musician, this was, in Ethan's mind, the most terrible thing that could happen to her. Music was her first love. Everything else was second.
He knew how much time she put into practice, trying to make her performances perfect. She wrote small notes to herself all over her sheet music, and nearly starved herself from playing so much. Ethan, at times, had to force her to eat, and put her flute down for five or ten minutes to let her hands rest. Blair loved music more than anything else, and now she couldn't hear it.
Ethan let out a sigh, running a hand through her long strawberry-blonde hair. "Blair, look at me," he softly commands.
She obeys, looking to him with misery clear in her gaze.
He messes with a strand of her wavy hair for a moment, moving her into his lap, cradling her petite form in his arms. "You'll get over this, Blair. I promise; I'll help you, and I won't rest until you can hear music again."
Blair grips his shirt in her small fingers, sobbing harder. Ethan held her tightly, letting her tears stain his suit. A tear slides down his face as well. Why? Why did this happen? Everything we've worked for is gone. There's no way we got a good score on our piece.
Ethan looks up as someone blocks the small amount of light they had. It was his identical twin brother, Xedrix. His accompanist, Dannie, moves next to him. They don't have to say a word to know what happened.
Dannie messes with a piece of her hair, twisting it and combing through it with her hand. Xedrix fidgets with the silver ring on his thumb. They glance to other, whisper their condolences and move to the stage for their own performance.
As usual, they stun the audience in a good way, bow, and exit the stage, moving back to Ethan and Blair. They join them on the ground as Blair stops weeping. She sniffles, looking at them.
"I'm sorry," she mumbles, her voice barely audible.
"It's okay," Dannie replies.
Ethan and Xedrix nod in agreement. Everything's gonna be fine, Blair. Don't worry about it. You can still play; you'll be fine. I swear.

The Secret of Earth - Kim Wilson (6)
{this is really just a description of a story it will take me a while to actually finish it.}
Many people don't realize how many secret cities are all over the world. Trust me, I live in one, and it's not as fun as you may think.
These "closed cities" we live in are classified by our own government. The names and locations of our cities are unknown to the outside world. Our cities appear on no maps, no road signs will direct you to us. Visitors from foreign cities are strictly prohibited.
You don't know us, but we know you. We see all of the wars raging in the world you think only you occupy; we know all of the economies that continually fail of your countries. The thing about our secret cities are: we don't want to live here.
The government of our city doesn't allow us to move away. Citizens who try to sneak out of the city could be arrested, sometimes even shot. We don't want to be here. That's why we need your help.
You don't know what we have to endure. Our government controls our every move. Don't believe me? There are cameras everywhere, and when I say everywhere, I mean everywhere. We have cameras outside our house to eavesdrop on conversations. Any negative remarks about the government caught on the cameras are punishable.
We are told what to eat, how long to sleep, how long we get to use technology, and how long we can use electricity. We are even told who to marry and how many children to have.
They tell us they're doing this for our own good. They're supposed to make us a “perfect generation.” They tell us that they saved us from the outside world. What if we don't want to be perfect? What if we didn't wanted to be saved?
We know you, but you don't know us. We won't get out. We want out. We need you. We're coming. All of us. We're getting out of this torturous place.

Things I like about you - Shailey Wooldridge
Believe me when I say that I hope you never read this. I really really hope that you never ever ever read this, although I know there's a chance you might because you deserve to and I'm not exactly hiding it. If you do read this then I want you to know that I'm going to hurt you. I'm going to hurt you really really bad. I guess that's why I'm writing this to you, I guess part of me wants you to read it. I want you to get out while you still can, so I won't get the chance to hurt you. It's not my intention to hurt you, you have to believe me when I say that. You're the last person that I would ever ever want to hurt. But it's going to happen eventually, and I guess I just want you to be okay when it does.
Believe me when I say this, I like you. I like you because you call me out when I contradict myself. I like how when I'm with you I don't think about the past, I especially don't think about him, or the one before him. I like how you're scared, believe me when I say that you should be. It means you're smart enough to know that it's not in my nature to stay- and I'm sorry for that. I like your sleepy smile and I like the way you believe in me. Believe me when I say that you shouldn't.
I like how passionate you are about movies and I like how your eyes light up when you talk about how you want to be a director one day. Your eyes don't just light up they just absolutely burn brighter than the sun and I hope that when I break my promise to you that fire in your eyes doesn't go away. I hope you hate me when I'm gone, because you're the best thing that has ever happened to me and I deserve it for being scared of that. Believe me when I say that I am so so so sorry. Hate me with all your heart as long as that means you don't lose the love you have for everyone else. Because the love you had that was radiating off of you makes me want to learn to love myself.
Although I'm sure I won't love myself anymore after I screw all of this up. You always tell me not to self deprecate but screwing things up is what I'm best at. Believe me when I say that I'm sorry if I screwed you up. I don't really know what I was trying to accomplish when I sat down to write this letter to you, it isn't a goodbye because I haven't even done anything yet, and I don't want you to ever read this even though I said that I did earlier. I guess this is just an apology in advance that you're never going to hear. Believe me when I say that I'm truly sorry about not being able to tell you I'm sorry in person, or at all really. This letter was much more for myself than you now that I think about it. Believe me when I say that I'm sorry that I'm so selfish. I'm just, I'm really sorry. I'm sure you get the point although I can never say it enough.
Yours truly, you know who.
P.S you shouldn't believe me

Happiness is... --Karlee Sanders
Happiness is waking up every morning in a nice, comfy bed. Happiness is a mug of hot chocolate or coffee that warms your hands while you sip it. Happiness is getting a new notebook, and then writing your name on the inside of it. Happiness is laying down for a nap. Happiness is watching your favorite tv show non-stop. Happiness is being with family. Happiness is hanging out with friends. Happiness is when you accomplish something you've practiced and worked hard for. Happiness is saving change, and exchanging it for bills. Happiness is a crisp autumn afternoon, when the leaves are falling and the air is fresh. Happiness is seeing someone you've missed. Happiness is spending time with your pet. Happiness is seeing silly faces or animals in clouds. Happiness is cool grass between your toes. Happiness is a giant cup of cold water on a hot day. Happiness is when someone compliments you. Happiness is singing along to your favorite song on full blast without a care in the world. Happiness is figuring out something all by yourself. Happiness is teaching someone something, and watching them get it. Happiness is taking a drive with someone you love. Happiness is an ice cream cone, double scooped with your favorite flavor. Happiness is looking in the mirror, and liking what you see. Happiness is when you finish your summer assignment. Happiness is smelling your favorite flower. Happiness is remembering an inside joke between you an a friend, and laughing no matter how long ago the joke was made. Happiness is watching the sun rise. Happiness is watching the sun set. Happiness is laughing until your stomach hurts so bad that you think you should have a 6-pack. Happiness is giving back. Happiness is being pleasantly surprised.
Happiness is something that I love. It's truly wonderful. I'm very glad that I have experienced so much happiness in my life, and the things I just listed are some of the things that I think of when I hear the word happiness. There are many more, but I wouldn't want to overdo my 350 word cap. What is happiness to you?

Lifelong Friendships: Haven Robertson
I’ve grown
up with an innumerable amount of amazing people who I like to call my child
hood friends. Some of these people have trailed off throughout the years but
others have stuck with me through it all.
One of my absolute best friends is Hattie
Milligan. I’ve known Hattie for as long as I can remember. Hattie and I have
played basketball together since we were old enough to play on an actual
organized team. I know I can always count on Hattie, on and off the court. I am
very blessed to have Hattie as one of my closest friends.
I have known Karlee Sanders since
diapers. I am so lucky to know her. She
knows everything about me. Karlee and I have
always been pretty close. She loves the lord and is an amazing Christian. She
is a great friend to have. She always knows the right thing to say. I know I can
always count on her to tell me the truth, no matter the situation.
Mattie Lowery has always been there for me. I
have known her since elementary school. Mattie is probably the most caring,
funniest, and kind hearted person I know. I am so thankful for Mattie.
Last, but certainly not least is Samantha
Lyles. Sam and I spent most of our childhood at Auntie Beth’s daycare and also
grew up together. She is an amazing person. Sam is graduating early and I’m
going to miss her dearly. I can come to Sam with anything and everything and I know
I can trust her opinion.
These 4 girls will always be one of my
greatest blessings. I will never forget all of the memories all of us have made
throughout the years. From riding rides together at the fair to all of Mattie’s
birthday parties in hotels. “There is something irreplaceable about childhood friends.”
