“I swear he’s a vampire!” Wendy whispered, pointing to their history teacher.
Celine grinned, almost laughing, “I’m not sensing that kind of energy from him. Are you, Yui?” she looked to the small girl, who watched their teacher with interest while shaking her head.
Mr. Willnorth scoffed at something in their book before turning to Jason, demanding he burn it. Jason reluctantly burnt the book, earning a dazzling grin from the young teacher.
Mr. Willnorth was a dark-haired, green-eyed man who dressed in a suit and tie everyday, despite Headmaster Allen allowing everyone―including teachers―to dress casually. He claimed to be centuries old, but only a handful of students believed him.
“Okay,” he clapped his hands together, “our books are liars. Listen up, geeks, I’m about to tell you what really happened during the revolution in Amortia.”
Wendy grinned, “See? That happened centuries ago! The only way he would know what really happened is if he was there!”
Jason turned around to face them, “Not necessarily. He could’ve just read many books that all have something that ours don’t. Like, say he read Tale of Amortia by Ignus Finch. That’s set during the revolution, and most of it’s true. Or, what if he read...”
“Mr. Cage, are you listening?” Mr. Willnorth asked, glaring at the Dráka.
Jason sheepishly grinned, turning back to the front of the classroom.
Celine chuckled under her breath as Willnorth began to explain the Amortian Revolution in great detail, interrupted by the sound of the bell, ending class. As the room began to empty itself, Wendy and Yui turned to Celine as they put their notes away.
“I’m still saying he’s a vampire,” Wendy remarked, earning a grin from Yui as they left.
Note:
- Dráka are a species of dragon with the ability to take on a human form.
- Amortia is a land based on France.
- Wendy is the only human out of six main characters (Yui, Avery, Jason, Celine, and Aymeric all are or end up being non-humans).
Hello Brittany. I think you are a very good writer. All of your stories are quite long, and usually exceed the minimum amount of words. You are a very good friend of mine and I'm thankful to have you around. Continue to write about what you want, and to be who you want. Please one day write an actual book and publish it. I love you and I'm very thankful that you do what you love, you do it very well!!!!!
