Summer of Gaming (SoG): The Witcher Prologue - Gabe Poe #9

I started playing The Witcher this week. Right now I have over 39 hours put into the run of the game I am doing. The plot of the game is pretty cool; I'm going to explain the plot as far as I've gotten into it. The Prologue starts with a cutscene showing a man known as Geralt of Rivia, being found by a group of men who are wearing similar tunics (clothing). The next scene is Geralt waking up in a fort called Kaer Morhen, Geralt asks the men who found him who they are and more importantly who he was. The people who found him explain that they are a group of mutated humans, known as the Witchers. that fight against the evil in the world. They tell Geralt that he was one of them and apparently, they thought that he had died during a battle in a far country. But they found him alive, with amnesia in a nearby forest. While they are explaining what has happened they hear a rattling at the gate of the fort. A giant group of mercenaries led by a wanted murderer, named the "Professor" and a powerful unknown mage, have began attacking the fort looking to steal the mutagens that mutate the humans who take them into Witchers. The Witchers ask Geralt to help protect the fort from the mercenaries. Geralt and the other Witchers begin fighting the mercenaries, but the Professor and the mage are able to sneak by and enter the inner gate of the fort. Geralt then has to fight through mercenaries to get into the main building of the fort. Geralt then opens the inner gate and lets the Witchers in. Geralt then takes the Wither apprentice and finds the mage and the Professor in the dungeon looking for the mutagens. Geralt goes back to the Witchers and enlists the help of a witch so that he can defeat the mage. As they are about to enter the fort again, a monster appears and Geralt must choose between fighting the monster and helping the witch defeat the mage. I chose to go with the witch and the apprentice and we attack the mage. But, he was too strong, so the mage killed the apprentice and teleported away with the mutagens. They find out that the gang that employed the mercenaries to attack the fort were the Salamandra. He also knocked out the witch so for the rest of the prologue finding items to create a potion to heal her. After you heal her you hold a funeral for the apprentice and each of the Witchers leave for a different end of the continent to find the mage and retrieve the mutagens. The prologue ends with a cutscene showing Geralt traveling to the south of the fort towards the city of Vizima.
