Cyra’s eyes were pale like the moon while Sabir’s eyes were like a sun set. Her hair was dark and his was nearly white. They stared at each other in wonder, slowly circling each other, not knowing what to think about the other being.
Irma smiled, allowing them to approach each other. Sabir immediately took quick strides toward Cyra.
“I have died many times, Sweeting, and I’ve always ended up with you. A different version of you, maybe, but you, all the same,” Sabir smiled kindly, caressing Cyra’s cheek.
Irma looked away from the couple, “He has served countless kings, faked countless deaths, bided his time, waiting for you, dear. Sabir is a very patient man.”
Cyra’s eyes widened in shock, “S-Sabir... why would...”
“Because I need you, Cyra. I can’t live without you.” As he closed his eyes, memories flooded her mind.
It was their previous lives as Slayer and Genevieve Grey. She remembered how they’d sacrificed themselves, becoming the Sun and Moon entities, though she couldn’t recall why. Since then, they’d lived centuries without the other.
As the memories faded, Cyra re-opened her eyes, no longer seeing Sabir in front of her. Panic flooded her being. “Sabir?!” she called.
Only silence greeted her.
Faint familiar footsteps sounded from behind her. It was Irma.
“I’m sorry. Your meetings are usually brief, but not like this one. It was a lot shorter.”
Cyra remained silent for a moment. “When can I see him again?”
Irma stifled a laugh, “That’s funny. That was the first thing he asked after the meeting was over. I guess you guys are more alike than I thought.”
“Please, Irma. Answer me.”
Irma breathed out a sigh, “You have to wait two years. By that time, my powers will at their peek, and you can meet again. I promise. If I had it my way, you guys would never have been separated.”
Cyra nodded, watching the sun, seeing a faint figure staring back at her. “Just two years. Two years.”
Talk about a plot twist. This was like one of those moments when you are expecting sweet tea and grab someones diet coke instead. That moment when you realize that what you expected wasn't the reality of the situation. I am saying this because of the title. I assumed Sun and Moon was referring to the newly announced Pokemon games; however, that was not what happened at all. I am will to bet that they are the inspiration though. I am now going to go read part two. Bye. Harrison McCall #11
