This summer has been my first summer of playing aau. Since I was young I’ve always wanted to play but could never find a good traveling team to play with. Last summer I played two or three tournaments with Arkansas Sting, a team out of Beebe, and I liked the people who played and the coaches. So this summer I decided to play with them and I’ve enjoyed every bit of it. I have been able to go to places I’ve never been to before. Like during June, the team played in a tournament in Fayetteville, and I was so stoked because I had always wanted to go to Fayetteville and see the U of A campus. It was so pretty, I had my mom take pictures of Lotti and I throughout the campus. We took pictures by the basketball stadium and by the football stadium. Looking back I wish I would’ve went to the baseball stadium. During this trip I was even able to try WhataBurger, though I was a burnt out on burgers so I got chicken instead, I’m a weirdo I know. Besides Fayetteville, I have been to many other places that I’ve never been to like Conway, Hillsboro MO, and Little Rock. Two weekends ago I was able to go to Branson for a ball tournament. I have been to Branson plenty throughout my life because my dad is obsessed with Silver Dollar City and likes to go there every year. Though I was able to see new things during this trip instead, Lotti recommended going and trying this donut shop called Hurt’s Donut, and it was so good. I had an cookie and cream donut and I thought I was in heaven for sure. I also was able to view the campus of College of the Ozarks. It was so beautiful. There was a chapel on campus that was gorgeous, it had stained windows every where and old versions of bibles that I thought was interesting. Traveling this summer because ball has made me excited for future adventures and where basketball will lead me next. I hope all this traveling actually pays off and college will actually like my skills and offer me a good scholarship to a college that is far away from Caraway as possible. I’m writing this blog on my way back from a scrimmage with a college team and it made me realize how much I would love to play college ball.
