I’m currently typing this blog on the way home from a AAU tournament in Conway. Let me tell you, I’ve never been so physically drained in my life. During this tournament I have played 10 games within the time span of three days. The first two days I felt alright though a little sore but that’s typical after a ballgame. It was the third day when I really began to feel exhausted. The third day we were able to sleep in until nine but it still felt like I could’ve slept three more days. Though the worse part of the third day was our last game. By this game everyone on the team is so tired that we could fall out any minute plus half the team had left for a tournament in Atlanta, Georgia, so that only left us with 7 players. At first we only had 5 but we managed to get younger players to move up and play with us. Let me tell you, this game felt like the longest game ever. The refs sucked and wouldn’t give us a call, we were basically playing football because the only way the other team could guard was by tackling us, and overall it was an awful game. I knew it was going to be a bad game when I went up to to tip the ball at the beginning of the game and the other girl held my jersey because she could barely jump one centimeter off the ground. Then the first possession of the game the big girls literally bulldozed over half the girls and not a single call was made. So yea, that was just the beginning of everything that went on. All of us were livid by this so we decided to start throwing elbows, pushing people down, and yea it got ugly. By the time the game was over, everyone was ticked off, tired, and ready to go home. Fast forward to the present, I’m currently sprawled out in the back seat of Coach Hoffman’s kia, eating Zaxbys, which I’ve grown to love, and about to take a good nap.
