Zeke Hill - 11
I'm so happy this is my last journal entry. I still haven't even started on the book part. My summer has been interesting. I've been constantly busy and haven't got to slow down yet so that's what I plan on doing the week before school starts. All I really have been doing is running everyday, then playing fortnite. Because fortnite is important. Honestly I've spent hundreds of dollars on fortnite because I don't have anything else to do with my money. I've mellowed out a whole lot this summer and have learned to relax and just let things happen. I keep being negative towards getting older but my great grandma told me something when I was young before she passed. She told me, "Getting old beats the alternative." The more I think about it, its true. I would 100% rather get older and go through everything than not be here. I'm ready to go to college and make something out of myself and make my mom proud. She's really an amazing person. Yes, she does embarrass me and have weird rules but she's still my mother. She was my father and mother when I was younger and worked night shifts and did odd jobs during the day to support me and my siblings. She would do anything for us and would struggle and always be positive while things are rough. Part of becoming a doctor is having a large salary. I really want to make things easier and buy her a 57' Chevy Bel Air. That's her dream car. Another person I want to make proud is my grandpa. He has been in rough shape for a couple years but he promised me that he would be there whenever I graduate from medical school. He really is the light in my life. He has served in the military and was a carpenter his whole life until he retired and picked up beekeeping. He has tough love and likes things done his way and no other way. He also can be pretty cruel but he knows what's best. He has taught me many things that I know that no one else would teach me. He would take everything he had and give to anybody that needs it. I honestly wish I could be like him and have some of his morals and ethics. I really just want to make sure that my life goes in the right direction and I don't fall off the track. Honestly, I love our class and I can't be more excited to be able to be apart of it. Our class has some of the most loving, fantastic people you could meet. I'll see you at school, kids.
This blog is so true, and what your great grandma said really caught my attention. Getting older can be a little scary at times, but that’s so true about what she said, “..it’s better than the alternative.” I’m like you on wanting to make your mom proud. My mom has been my mom and dad majority of my life. I know it has not always been easy on her, so that’s why I want to do great is for her in way. She gave me all she had to make sure I was taken care, and she has went above and beyond what she had to do. -lexi hall
ReplyDeleteLexi Hall is right Zeke. This blog is very true. My aunt and your great grandma would have gotten along so well. It sounds like they would have just a like. Also I seen where you got the job at Sonic. I hope you don't fall in front of the camera in there like Charlie did. I wish you the best of luck at Sonic.
