#5 Dying from Grimy Little Fingers 🦠- Victoria Chamberlain

Tonsil Cancer Part 2 ✌🏼🤪✌🏼yee haw

When I got to Heber Springs, I was still in a ton of pain. I told my mom I HAD to go to the doctor or I was gonna die. Victoria exaggerating? Never. We finally went to the doctor around 7:00pm and waited in the waiting room for a while. I remembered one of the kids there said something really funny and i was gonna write about it, but I can’t remember now. Just know it was really funny.
The woman at the front desk was a god and got me a primary care physician in like 5 minutes when my moms been trying to get me one for months. Then I went into a room and a nurse asked me tons of questions and blah blah blah. She said the doctor would be in “shortly.” That was a lie. It took him FOREVER to get in there. I was so bored and the T.V. wasn’t even on. How rude.
When the doctor finally came in and told us his name I panicked because I looked up reviews on the hospital before I came, and all of the bad reviews were about him. When he went to check my mouth with his little light thingy HIS GRIMY LITTLE FINGERS TOUCHED MY TONGUE. I didn’t notice he wasn’t wearing gloves until after. I wanted to throw up. At this point, I didn’t care if I had tonsil cancer. I wanted to get the heck out of there. I was DONE.
The other nurse came back in and shoved a cotton swab up my nostrils and another one down my throat. I nearly sneezed on her, whoops. But they checked me for strep throat and the flu, and we waited for the results.
When I say we waited for the results, I mean we WAITED for those results. We were in there for an hour and a half waiting for someone to tell me if I was dying or not. When the grimy finger doctor finally came back in, he told me I just had laryngitis. “Laryngitis” is just a fancy word for “sore throat.” I still don’t believe him. All they gave me was this weird nasty liquid that made my throat numb for about 10 minutes, then I was back to dying. But, yeah, don’t go to the hospital in Heber Springs if you have a sore throat.
