-----Grant Smith #10 Goals For New School Year
First off, I want to say I am kind of excited for this school year. I've heard eleventh grade either makes you, or breaks you.So I am eager to find out. It is hard to imagine that I am about to be a junior in high school. It doesn't seem real, but it will never seem real if I don't understand that I have to grow up a little bit. I think I have matured a lot since the tenth grade. With that being said, I don't think I willever pass up on an opportunity to make an uncalled-for joke in the middle of class, but that's just me. That's how I'll always be. One reason that I think that I have matured is that I have learned to not pay attention to things or people that won't help me excell or have fun in something. If someone doesn't help me excell and they bring me down or slow me down, they are not worth the time. Another reason that I think I have matured is that I have focused on more of the things that might give me more joy down the road than the things that might give me joy now. A lot has happened over the summer but I am ready to set some new goals for this school year. This school year, I want to do better in my classes. I want to have better grades for longer than just the first semester and I want to get into less trouble in the classroom. I don't think that I am a huge trouble maker in the first place ,and I am sure half the people reading this disagree, but I think I could work on that this year. Growth is not always about outgrowing something or someone, it's about out growing your old self. I don't know if that makes a lot sense or not, but I believe that if you want to make progress in this world, you have to look at yourself first and know where you have to start growing from.
This almost made me tear up, what the crap Smith?
ReplyDeleteI love seeing you addressing your development and growth. It’s impressive to look back on! Being able to regard your past with enough intelligence to improve is a feat not a lot of people can say they’ve achieved. I’m hoping we all grew this summer and will continue to grow as the year progresses. It can only lead to good things, really.
Even with your goofiness, I’m honestly looking forward to seeing you in class every day. You made a lot of bad moods turn tail and run right away. You definitely brighten up a classroom.
