Time I regret - Cailey Qualls

        "Will you please shut up." A four word sentence that can ruin someone's day. I can always realize when I have hurt someone's feelings, but it is different with my brother. My brother is about 4 years older than me, so you can imagine we really aren't that close. He has always done his thing, and I have always done mine.
          A couple of months ago my brother came home for the summer, and of course I wasn't happy because we share a bathroom. I had finally got it to myself, so I wasn't happy about sharing it again. I don't really know why I was so upset about it, but I was. When my brother had moved back in he would try to talk to me, and I would just say "will you please shut up", or something like "leave me alone." I tend to have the problem of not thinking about things before I say them. Eventually my brother was upset because he was feeling like I didn't want him there, and had no interest in get along. Which wasn't the case, but of course I saw where he was coming from. I never thought that he would actually care this much, but he did.
        If I could go back to this day I would totally change how I handled things. I would want my brother to know that I did want him home, and I was happy he was trying to get along. I wouldn't say this situation ruined our relationship, but it did make it not easy to talk to him.
