This I Believe - Autumn Courtney
I believe in many things, but there is one thing that I do not believe in and this fear. Fear is defined as, “an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.” However, we were not born with a sense of fear. It was created inside of us and as we get older, it grows stronger.
As we have all been struggling this week with the fear of losing our senior year, senior season, senior prom, graduation. I say that we need to push that to the side. Do not let fear win! We are the people, we get the say. There is no reason to fear!
I know that this is a hard time for everyone, and it is okay to worry. However, I am choosing to do something positive in this time of quarantine. I am spending time reading my bible, spending way too much time with my family, cleaning, doing my dreaded AMI assignments, making tik toks, cooking (which I am terrible at), face timing old and new friends, and doing things that I love but never really get the chance to do. I hate to say it, but I think this is something that the world needed, a time to slow things down and rest.
I want you all to know that I love each and everyone of, and that I am praying for you. Praying for your future, our last moments of high school together, and that all of you are staying safe, not bored, and washing your hands!:)
I agree with you autumn, in a time like this I feared selfish things, when I should have been scared of losing my sick grandmother. I think this is amazing time for people to get in the right head space, weather it be with the Lord, family or friends. - carmen campbell
