The Joys of Babysitting 9/11- Hailey H

For my final week of “freedom” or well the last week of summer, I was asked to babysit for a family friend. It went pretty well and well I got paid so kind of stoked about that part. But with a five and an eight-year-old, I was very entertained and busy. They had every day planned to their liking and they knew me enough to know what I would let happen and what I would not so we rarely had any issues.

On the first day they decided to do movie marathons. So we baked cookies, popped popcorn, and made some pizza. Then watched different movies that had nothing to do with each other. It was the third harry potter movie, cloudy with a chance of meatballs, Tarzan ( I think that’s what it is called), and then we ended with finding Nemo and inside out.

The second day was a game day so basically board games and video games. Let’s say this was the day I had no prior knowledge about since video games were the star of the show. But they taught me how to play this racing game (I was very good at it, shocking), this creepy neighbor game (I very much hated it), and then played a ton of uno, dominos, operation, and clue. I was shocked a five-year-old knew how to play clue and still managed to beat us all.

The third and final day of me being there, they wanted to do a little of both previous days all at once. So we turned on a movie and played mostly board games so they could enjoy the snacks and the movies they had on. Unfortunately, the week got cut off short since their mom did not need to go the full week. But the boys and I had a lot of fun even though I had to be in Lake City by 7 am so I had to get up like I was going to school. I guess I practiced going to be early like when I was a kid, but no practicing could help me love 6 am.
