Birthday!! - Caiden Hinkle - 5/11

Welcome back to my birthday blog posts. I hope you are enjoying my story telling. I also hope life is keeping you busy, if you need it to. Anyways, lets hop back into the story of my birthday trip!

Once we finished the eSports section of the science museum, we got food at the food court. I ended up not eating anything and just getting a 24 oz Dr. Pepper. Then we sat there at the food court for a little bit, but not just because we were tired. They had a gigantic marble machine that had contraptions that led the marbles around the whole museum. It was pretty interesting to follow the tracks around and see what the marbles do next. Also, while following the marble tracks, we realized that they had a hidden outside exhibit. It was where you could learn about flowers, soil, and animals on farms. We got to see chickens, but we were also surprised to see that they were growing Hemp. It was for scientific research, but it was still strange to see, and horrible to smell. I really don't know why they hid the exhibit away behind everything. Also, they had soils from every single state that is a part of the United States of America! They also explained what the colors of the soils mean. They had an experiment area where you can make different corn products, such as corn flour. If I had some extra time to stay at the science museum, I would have kept exploring that outside area. It was super hot outside though, so i guess it ended up working out fine in the long run. We pretty much stayed at the little apartment we were staying in for the remainder of the day. Oh, wait a second. We also ended up getting lots of snacks and watching Luca on Disney+. We found it as a very exceptional movie and a 10% recommendation for those thinking about watching it. Just make sure to have some tissues, it gets pretty emotional.  Anyways, come back to my next blog post to see what we did at Six Flags!

Birthday!! - Caiden Hinkle - 4/11

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been writing about what I said I would write about. I haven't been busy, but I have been out of town without a phone or computer. I will wrap this beginning part up and start telling you about my birthday week and some other crazy stuff that happened!

We arrived in St. Louis around 10pm on Thursday night. We stayed up for a little bit to watch some TV as we were worn out from the drive. I went to bed at midnight, and fell asleep immediately. Then it was Friday. On Friday, they had a surprise for me at the science museum in St. Louis. Every Friday and Saturday, they have gaming competitions for prizes. These games can be all the way from Mario games, to shooter games (two completely different genres). If you know me, you would know that I am a sucker for video games and tournaments of the sort. Me, my sister, and her fiance played Valorant as soon as we got there, and since they don't play video games, I played against them in a 2 versus 1 situation. Surprisingly, her fiance was amazing at the game, and actually placed fourth in the 1 versus 1 tournament they had. Then we decided to play something more simple, which we chose Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I ended up placing first in the tournament for the game, and won a free ride on the Airplane War simulator. If you are wondering what that is, it is pretty hard to control, but easy to understand. First off, you need a partner. Then you need to decide who will be the flyer, and who will be the gunner. I ended up being the pilot, but it was way harder then expected. The machine for the simulator actually does complete barrel rolls. It hurts your head when you go upside-down, because you have to do that to hit some of the planes.

Anyways, I hope you would like to hear more about this trip. I will see you on the next blog post, coming soon to a computer near you.

5/11 Raven Horton

This week I really tried to enjoy it and spend a lot of time with my mom's side of the family since I have to leave next week. I have no idea when me and my mom will both have a empty schedule since she is a nurse and goes to college, and I have school, church events, FBLA, mentoring, cheer, and softball. This week consisted in a lot of arts in crafts one day we tie dyed, made jell-o shots, made bath bombs, and I dyed my little sister hair.

Since I've been staying at my mom's I have really been trying to work on my cheering skills, which did I mention I'm a flyer! During this "trip" my stepdad has taught me how to drive a manual car, and me and my mom have done two different puzzles.

I have also managed to blow something up in my hand, get stung by a bee, and get sunburnt all in one day. On the fourth me and my stepdad decided to have a bottle rocket fight, well I was trying to light two at the same time and they came untwisted. While trying to the the other one the first one blew up in my hand.

My mom's 33rd birthday is next Sunday the 11th, since I not going to be here because I have to go home and get ready for church camp next week. We decided to celebrate with a lunch/ dinner at Hueys her favorite place to eat. Then we ended the day with ice cream cake from Baskin Robins and watched a horror movie.

Monday I had cheer when I got home I went to sleep since I didn't feel very good.

Tuesday I got up and nobody was awake so I had to walk to cheer practice. After practice my brother had a baseball party at the Manila waterpark, the power was out since there had been a wreck so the party was wack. After the party my mom came and got me so I could stay a couple weeks with her in Olive Branch.

Wednesday when we got up we sat around watching murder documentaries. Around lunch time we went out and got McDonalds, then went shopping around for baby clothes.

Thursday we woke up and did the same thing , watched lots of TV we aren't very productive since my mom is on bed rest because of her pregnancy. later that day we all got dressed and went grocery shopping. After dinner me and my little sister baked a cake for my mom.

On Friday I managed to finish my quilt I had started during quarantine. After taking my little sister to Karate we went out to eat at Hueys, to celebrate her getting her second stripe.

Saturday when we got up we went to a "Coffee and Cars" car show, but there was really nothing there. So we ended up driving two hours away to Union Tennessee, where the America Discovery Museum was located. Then we went to my Great Grandma's house to drop off my little sister. My parents and I ended up going to a car show, but my stepdads shoe broke so we didn't stay long.

On Sunday we had a cook out a bunch of my parents' friends came over we ended up staying up late having a mortal combat tournament.

I really do enjoy staying at my moms during the summer, and holidays.

Sunday before my aunt had to take me home, she took me to get my nails done then to go get dinner.

Monday I woke up and went to cheer practice, when I got out I had a quick doctors appt. Then we went to the waterpark in Manila.

Tuesday I woke up and again cleaned like I do every single day, then I had to go to cheer. When I got out of cheer I went over to my friend's house to swim and tan. When we got done my family and I went to the waterpark again. My other grandma drove  all the way from Ohio just to see us for a couple hours. It really shocked me.

Wednesday I had cheer, when I got home we cleaned. When my dad got home we then left and went to the Manila waterpark.

Thursday me and my bonus mom went grocery shopping in Jonesboro. When we got done we headed back to Lake City to pick up my friend to go to the waterpark.

Friday when I got up we did a quick pick up around the house, then we had to go to Jonesboro for a couple doctors appt.

Saturday was the most boring my parents left me in charge to watch my little brother while they went shopping. They gave me my phone to have for a little while since I had been grounded for the past week and a half.

Sunday it was father's day so after church we went to my great Palpal's like we do every Sunday. We really wanted to make this father's day special since we had a lot of missing family members. On the way there we stopped to grab some sandwiches from the quick shop, then we went and got yahoos for every in rememberance of my grandpa. After we ate we went down to the bank and fished and we caught a couple bait fish, which isn't much but it is compared to what we had been catching.

This week I spent most of my time with friends. Monday I had cheer practice, which wasn't to bad we mostly just caught up and worked on jumps. Not to much exercise. I'm so out of shape even with softball, when I woke up the next day I was so sore.

Tuesday my brother had an all day baseball tournament in Osceola, so we were gone all day I  was definitely sunburnt and very exhausted. We got home quite late but I still went over to my friends house and stayed the night. we stayed up all night, baked a cake, made candles, and made cute little matching anklets

On Wednesday I had to walk home very early in the rain, so me and my stepmom could go to West Memphis so I could help my grandma clean her house to earn a little bit of extra money to put towards all my needs for school and sports. After we cleaned we went back home and picked up the rest of the family to go to Rivervale to see my great palpal for his 75th birthday. After we ate we tried to fish off the bank but got nothing so we packed up for the day and went home.  When I got home I went next door and stayed the night at a friends house since she was staying next door taking care of her great grandma.

Thursday I went home and cleaned the house and then we all went to the Manila waterpark, which we go there all the time and we normally stay open till close. Once we got home I went back to my friend's and we pulled an all nighter, I really don't get much sleep but that's my own fault.

Friday I got up and cleaned like I do every morning. When I got down we went to my Palpal's to check on him and again like always, I tried to fish but caught nothing.  After that I had to go home and get ready for my softball game which you already know we won.

Saturday my aunt came and and got me and we went and swan at village creek. Then after we went and picked up my cousins in West Memphis to pick up my cousins and went roller skating.

Not completely boring- 4/11- Zoey McGowan

This post is a little late but for a good reason. I actually did something, I know shocking right. Well before we talk about that I’m going back to Les Mis for a minute. Let me just tell you that was amazing. Those kids were around my age and younger and they were TALENTED. I mean the singing, the costumes, it was just all so good. Also the fact that they only rehearsed for 6 weeks. Okay, I’m done fan girling now onto the fun stuff.

I went to the beach! We were really hoping that my nephew would of been able to come, I might have already talked about this but oh well. This mother would not let him come, but we still had a good time. We left earlier than we were supposed to. So we had a room rented Monday through Thursday. So we stayed at two different hotels before. But of course I had to go to the bookstore. Shocker, right. I got about 6 books that I probably didn’t need, but I just had to have. Overall it was a pretty good vacation. We saw fireworks on the beach and even caught some crabs. So I still haven’t even hit close to the word count so I’m gonna just keep talking about my trip. I’ll talk about crab hunting, for those who are just wanting to know lol. The key to finding crabs is to look for holes in the sand. You of course need to look at night, before the crabs move to the water. When you look for the holes make sure it's not an umbrella hole. We also didn’t have a shovel so my dad was digging with his hands, while I did the most important job. Holding the bucket of course. Well anyway the key is to follow the hole, which is easy because it’s hollow. I’m kind of sick of talking about crabs, so let’s move on to the 4th. That was actually not as bad as I thought it would be. We went to church then came home and cooked then went swimming. I was only interested in seeing my nephew. We then went to get ice cream and to watch fireworks. Then sat in the horrible line for ever to leave.
