Most of
our parents have taught us a lot of important things or values over the years.
I know my parents definitely have. My parents have built strong roots for me by
teaching me some very important things. So, I am going to share some of the
values and tips my parents have taught me.
- Always stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves.
- Always be the bigger person.
- God is number one. I just want to add that my parents did not brain wash me into thinking this. They did keep me in church and teach me about God, but my love for God is my love for God, not theirs.
- Always say “God bless you” when someone sneezes.
- Thank others.
- Say no ma’am, no sir, yes ma’am, and yes sir.
- Be king
- Be courageous.
- Don’t smack your gum.
- Be generous. This could be giving someone a ride home, paying for their meal, donating money, etc.
- Always have faith.
- Never lose hope.
- Think before you speak.
- Treat others as you would want them to treat you.
- Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
- Do your best in school.
- Work hard at everything.
- If you start, you finish.
- Put your life in God’s hands.
- Trust your gut.
- Say no.
- Don’t go to bed angry.
- Forgive others.
- Never take your siblings for granted. They will always be your best friends.
- Do not do stupid stuff just because your friends are doing it.
- Pray before you act.
- Keep your body in good health.
- Smile at strangers you make eye contact with.
- Talk to your grandparents as much as you possibly can.
These are just a few of the things
my parents have taught me, and I know that a lot of the things are the same
things your parents have probably taught you. I sometimes fail to live them
out, but they are definitely apart of who I am. God has provided me with
amazing parents who have led me down the right path. I sometimes disagree with
their ways, but in the end their way is usually the best way. The values they have taught me will forever
be a part of my life and hopefully my children’s lives.
Well, these are very good values, and your parents have definitely done something right with you and Natalie and Jon. I know you three kiddos work very hard. Jon might need smacked around a little though. lol.
