Skin Care--Karlee Sanders

I bet you see commercials about products that guarantee healthier skin. I bet you wonder, "Why in the heck should I care about my skin that much. It can't be that important." Well, that's where you would be wrong. Our skin reflects what's going on inside our bodies. For example, if your skin is oily and has pimples, that either means that you aren't washing your skin like you should be, or that you are experiencing hormonal changes. If your skin has wrinkles, its either losing elasticity, dehydrated, or you're just old (maybe I should say "wise" instead). Fear not, reader! There are plenty of ways that you can take care of your skin in order to prevent skin diseases, pimples, wrinkles, or any other skin problem.

here's some ways that you can take care of your skin!
(These tips are courtesy of medicine.net)
-Skip long, hot showers.
-Use gentle cleansers.
-Moisturize while your skin is already moist.
-Wear cotton and other natural fibers.
-DRINK WATER ALL THE TIME. This is very important.
-Use products for acne, wrinkles, etc. that are specialized for dry skin.
-Eat omega-3 foods.
-Look for moisturizers with ceramides, glycerin, and hyaluronic acid.
-For normal skin, wash your face once or twice daily with mild cleanser or plain soap and water to gently remove dirt or sweat.
-For dry skin, wash your face daily with a mild cleanser, and follow with a perfume-free, alcohol-free moisturizer. Avoid taking hot showers, which can strip moisture from the skin. Dry skin is also common in the winter months when humidity is low and homes are heated with dry heat. A warm bath can help in these cases, followed by using a moisturizing cream or lotion to lock in moisture.
-For oily skin, wash your face once or twice daily with plain soap and water. If you need to cleanse your skin in-between washing, use a cleansing pad that helps dissolve oil and removes excess dirt from skin. If you have acne pimples, do not pop or squeeze them, as this can make the acne worse. Use non-comedogenic cosmetics that do not clog pores.
-WEAR SUNSCREEN EVERY DAY.
-Exfoliate twice a week.
-Don't smoke. It ages your skin and encourages wrinkling.
-Eat lots of fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and whole grains.
-Exercise every day. It helps your skin by boosting blood flow. And sweating flushes out dirt.
-Find ways to de-stress. Stress can make your skin more sensitive and worsen breakouts.
-Stay out of the sun. Get a fake tan if you want more color.

  1. Wow! I had no idea that there was so many ways to help your skin get better! I will definitely be using some of these tips! I think everybody should try to keep to a good schedule of bettering their skin. After all, it's easy to forget and not really keep track of taking care of things like your skin. I love reading blogs like this! I know blogs like this help me with great tips, and remind me of how important your skin is and how easy it is to damage it. You've done a great job with this Karlee! -- Jo Baker-9

  2. I am a skin worshipper, as you know. I am tedious about my skin care because I already have super mondo crap skin at the ripe age of 16. a big kicker for me is my water intake. I hate the stuff. tragically, I have dry skin and dehydrating it further is not helping my cause. I will attempt to drink more for the skin and because karlee gene sanders instructed me to do so. peace and blessings I love you tons man this is comment post number 15 by Sydney alexis adams

  3. Skin care is always very important. You only get one body, so you might as well take care of the one you have, right?
Sometimes people have dry skin, someone people have oily skin, and the incredibly lucky people have naturally really healthy skin.
I think self care is really important, and will essentially boost your confidence and make you feel better about yourself.
I love you Karlee, and I hope your summer has went well.
