Blessed: Haven Robertson

  I have realized today how much I take for granted and how unappreciative I can be sometimes. I woke up this morning for church, immediately thinking of how tired I was and how I didn't think I would be able to get up. I am so blessed to even wake up in the morning healthy and alive. "Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
  I began to think of how blessed I was this morning as I was driving to church. It was pouring down rain as I pulled into the parking lot. I got out of my car and noticed a lady that I had never seen before being dropped off at the front of the church. It was weird because she was soaking wet. She said thank you to the person driving her then she walked into the church. Come to find out, She lived across town and was walking to church in the pouring rain when a man asked her if she needed a ride. As soon as I found this out, I realized two things. The first thing is that we need more people in this world like the man who picked her up in the rain. The second thing is that if that lady wanted to go to church so bad that she would WALK  half way across town in the rain, then I can get up and drive my CAR to church.
  This is just one example of how I realized how lucky I am. From now on, I will try my hardest to always be thankful, why should I not be. I have running water, a roof over my head, food on the table, and a bed to sleep in. It is crazy to think about but there are people everywhere who do not even have these things. So, I encourage every one to just thank God today for what you have. I know I will. I am alive today for a reason, because it's God's will. So I'm going to start acting like it.
