Blog #5 Heavyn Hadl

This year, I went to church camp again. It was my third year going, and like always, it was beyond amazing. However, the whole month before church camp, I wasn't sure whether I wanted to go or not. A couple of my best friends weren't able to go and I am often extremely awkward around new people. Some people call me "stuck up" or "rude", but I'm really not. I just honestly believe that not everyone wants me to talk to them. Not everyone wants to have a conversation with me. So, I'm often quiet and kept to myself around strangers. Anyway, I was seriously close to not going to church camp because I didn't want to go alone. However, I went and prayed that it wouldn't be as horrible as I had my myself believe it was going to be. The first day, everything was going smooth. I found a couple of friends that I ended up staying with the whole week.
As the week went on, it started to get better and better. I was non stop laughing every chance I could. I would go to bed with a smile on my face. Being around people who were so sweet and nice and Godly really put me in a good mood. This year was the best year I'd ever had at church camp. Well, on Thursday, I ended up having to leave early to go to the hospital. It was over something minor and the doctor just gave me some antibiotics to take. Luckily, the director let me come back to church camp and finish the last night there. I was very thankful for that. Before bed that night, we had something called snack shack. In case you don't know what that is, it is a small little building where you can go get snacks, as long as you have already pre-paid for it. Snack shack is open everyday between meals. Well, it being the last time snack shack would be open, everyone was stocking up on snacks and sodas to get their moneys worth. Well, that night, we got a sugar rush from not only all of the candy and sodas, but they also gave us ice cream.
