Blog #6 Heavyn Hadl

Now, I've been a Christian for quite sometime now. But, the older I get, the more I begin to realize the severity of it all. Before, you could ask me about Jesus and I would tell you that he died on the cross for our sins. And, that is completely true. But, it hasn't been until recently that I've really understood what that mean. I haven't really thought about how hard that must've been for him. Jesus was a perfect man. In no way did he deserve to go through what he did. But, we will always be forever thankful for his sacrifice. Used to, I would see a cross and would just think of Jesus. Anymore, I see a cross and I think of the sacrifice that he made for us. I think about the unimaginable pain he went through, emotionally and physically. I think about the huge nails that they put straight through his hands and feet. I think about the thorns he had to wear on his head. And even though all that, even through all of the awful stuff that Jesus had done to him, he still loves us. Jesus made it to where we can go to Heaven now, as long as we believe in him and in God. I don't know about y'all, but that really makes me emotional. If you really think about it, we sin everyday and multiple times a day. The Lord tells us that we must not sin or we will fall short of the glory of God. Well, sin is all we know. Back to the Garden of Eden. God made Adam and then he took the rib of Adam and created a woman, Eve. God told them that they could eat from anywhere except one fruit tree. They were not allowed to eat from that tree. Well, what did Eve do? She ate from it. And then, she had Adam eat from it. So, it is human nature to sin. However, Jesus took all of our sins. He took all of our past, present, and future sins and he drank them all. He took them all and then paid the consequence for every single one of us that we would be able to go to Heaven. To me, that's just beautiful.
