Welcome back to the Blogosphere with Robert! Today is a different topic than the previous two episodes. In this episode, I would like to share one of my personal stories or maybe even a few.
The main story I wanted to focus on is my newest and most completed project so far. As many may know, in the 5th grade, writing hit me like a truck and I just got lost in it. I still feel the very same way and I'm hoping it sticks around. This new addition to my writing collection is called "Our Common Enemies." It's a dramatic mystery with touches of comedy throughout, aimed towards a younger audience such as myself, eventhough many of my readers happen to be older than my peers. Our Common Enemies is about three teens on the run from the law in the 1950s. They've robbed their neighbors, friends, and, at points, themselves. Their problem is the situation they've got themselves stuck in. Instead of a silky smooth robbery, their previous attempt ended with one of their acquaintances being captured and jailed. Why can't they just forget about him? He's the only one who knows where the money is. Our three antagonists need to get him out without imprisoning themselves.
There is another thing: the police aren't their only enemy. One of our three antagonists has a secret that could ruin them all. Eventually, this secret destroys the group and turns the teens on their backs, but they can't destract themselves just yet, as they are planning another scheme. During this raid, our traitor rats out the other two, getting the police involved earlier than expected. He then flees to a safehouse while the other two stay and fend for themselves. An incident brings their defense to a halt, causing one to be injured and the other to escape. The one who escaped eventually encounters some members of a mafia who had already caught wind of the trio. He then goes on the run from these criminals, along with the police, while also trying to find the traitor. Everything falls apart and the future of our characters is at stake. Thank you for reading!
I love the name you gave to your blog. It's got a nice ring to it and it shows your creativity and how you always have a way to stand out from everyone else. I remember meeting you back around 5th grade during quizbowl, and I have always been amazed with how smart you are. You have always had a way with wording things just perfectly. Whether it be a dumb joke about my forehead or an assignment for school. I really hope your writing career works out for you because you truly do have a talent. Your new writing collection sounds really interesting and I hope I get the chance to read it. -Victoria #8
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the kind words, Tori. It shows that someone was reading along. And as for my writing career, I'm hoping it takes me far in life. The year I met you Caraway GT kids was the year I began my career as an "author," and I've always dreamed of striving that little more. Knowing that people want to read what I write is honestly what has pushed me further down this road, so I really do owe it all to you guys.
DeleteAs for the title of these blogs, I'm not too sure where it came from. I went to type in Blog #1 and the first recommendation on my keyboard was Blogosphere, so I just went with it . -Robert
