     The word rich is such a small word, but it means so much. What do you think the word rich means? If you look up the word rich in the dictionary, it would give you the definition of wealth. The word rich does not necessarily mean that. Rich only means wealth when you want it to mean wealth.
The concept of rich has become a new word in this generation. Rich isn’t having the newest things.             Most people think that they have to keep up with the “rich people”. Well everyone is rich in a different way. If you have the oldest phone in the world, you are still rich because you have a phone. Most people in society think that you have to have the newest BMW car, well that doesn’t define rich. You are rich even if you have the oldest BMW because you still have a car that is running and will take you from place to place.
     Rich does not mean having the most expensive things. If you have an off-brand pair of shoes or clothing you are rich. Rich does not mean having the name brand of anything. If you have an off-brand of anything, you are rich. The purpose of clothing is to cover you and to keep you warm. Any type of clothing will do that, it’s just the price tag on the clothes that make people think that it’s better. You are rich if you have any time of clothing because some people don’t have any.
     Rich means having all of you needs and nothing else. If you have running water you are rich, because some people do not have that. If you have a pair of shoes, even if they are as old as dirt, you are rich. Rich means living in the oldest house, because it still does its job of supporting you. Rich means having a good attitude. Rich means only having one dollar rather than none. You don’t have to have an abundant amount of anything, because if you only have one thing, you are considered rich because some people don’t have anything.
    Rich doesn’t mean what most people think that it means. In society, people have changed the meaning for the worse. Rich doesn’t mean wealth or having an abundance of things, it only means having your needs, because some people don’t even have their needs. So, if you have your needs you are rich.
