blog 9 - lexi hall

I’m almost done with these blogs just 2 more!!!! In this blog I’m going to talk about the lake because it’s my home away from home. Going to the lake at the end of a long week can make it 10 times better! When we go we leave right after school on Friday, and then we’ll eat supper on the way or once we get there. It’s about a 2 hour drive to where we go on the lake. Once we get there we just chill and hang out with family. Saturday, we wake up and cook breakfast, which most of the time is waffles and bacon lol. We normally lay around till about 10:30 and then we get ready. Getting prepared to go out on the water takes a while. Each one of us has to get ready, and then we have to pack the coolers and the snacks. Waiting on my grandma to get ready is always is what takes the longest! After we leave we head down to the marina, which is only 2 minutes away from our cabin. Then, we unload and take everything to the boat. We take the boat off the lift we have, and then we start loading the boat with everything we brought down there. After we get it all settled in we head out to what we call “our cove.” We call it that because we’re always the only ones who are ever in that one cove. Once we get there we get the tube out and get it set up for riding. Normally, we’ll swim for about 5 or 10 minutes then start tubing. Tubing is my favorite part (besides tanning lol), so my cousin and I are usually on there for a pretty long time. Once we get tired everyone else that wants to gets on. After we get done tubing we drive to the bridges, which is 15-20 minute ride on the boat (a lot faster than taking a car). Sometimes when we go out we fish, but some of us aren’t patient enough for that so sometimes we don’t. After all that excitement we heard back to the marina. We unload all the things and put the boat on the lift. The. head to the house to take showers and get ready for dinner.   We sometimes we eat at Whispering Woods or we’ll grill. The. we watch movies the rest of the night till we fall asleep. It’s not much, but it’s the best place on Earth.

  1. Hey Lexi! I’ve never been to the lake before so i can’t relate or say anything about me going there but I have similar experiences to a different place. My home away from home is Riverbend. I love having a home away from home because it’s basically a cheap vacation. I would like one day to go to the lake because it seems fun up there. Though i’d be nervous bc of the deep waters and with something touching my foot. I know you’re supposed to have a life jacket on when you’re on the lake but I’d still have the worries of drowning. anywho see you monday, peace out.
