Sports - Melanie Cheesman 9

As I’ve told you guys in a previous blog, I grew up playing sports. I did competitive gymnastics for eight years, softball for two, dance for two, and soccer for about five years. Gymnastics was my all time favorite though. I had practice three to four times a week from right after school until about eight at night. I would eat dinner at the gym with some of my teammates and coach. I lived for gymnastics until I was eleven. Softball was a lot of fun, but I only really played because my friends and I all did it together. I really enjoyed dance and was going to be a part of the competition team, but I moved before the season started. Soccer was also one of my favorite sports. Not only did I play with a bunch of my close friends, but my dad was our coach. Soccer was also a big sport in my family because my siblings played a lot of soccer as well. Once I moved to Mississippi, I automatically started going back into the gym and got back into the tumbling swing. I became very interested in cheerleading when I started cheering for my new school after I moved. I took tumbling classes to try and get my skills back, and I got a couple back for the season at school. I cheered at Marshall from eighth grade to tenth grade, and I still love the sport. Soccer was brought back to Marshall when I was in the ninth grade and immediately I started playing again. I played my ninth and tenth grade year. My ninth grade year, I was somehow persuaded into playing basketball, and it was the worst decision I’ve ever made. I am awful at basketball, so I will probably never play again hahaha. When I moved to Lake City, I started going to more tumbling classes, and I was invited to join a competition cheer team out of Jonesboro. I have put a lot of thought into it, and I still have no idea if I’m going to join it or not. Well yeah there’s my life story about me playing sports.

  1. I also grew up playing sports. I wasn't the best at them, but I enjoyed getting to be a part of a team and playing. When I was in second grade, I started to play basketball and I played all the way until the beginning on tenth grade. I wasn't very good at it, but I did try hard and did my best. Another sport that I played was softball. I started playing it in third grade and played my last season in eigth grade. Now, the only sport I participate in is bowling. I enjoy doing it and I have lots of fun. - Tiffany F.
