June 20th was my last day of
work for an entire week. After that day we will be leaving for Gulf Shores, Al
at four o’clock in the morning. Of course, I’m excited and ready to get off
work. Earlier, a coworker of mine asked me if I could work her shift, which was
until closing. I told her it was too late and went ahead and just worked my
four to eight. On this day, I’ve also have been paid, and if any of you have a
job, you know how that feels, especially before vacation time. I cashed my
check after I finished at work and was ready to leave by the time I got home. I
was so thrilled to get my packing over with. Needless to say, I spent an hour
packing. Over and over I sat there in the floor checking over my list, making
sure I have everything. Counting my money and making sure everything was in my
purse for the road trip, I was full of excitement listening to songs about the
beach: I could not wait. I didn’t sleep that night. All I could think about was
getting there, but knowing if I didn’t sleep, four in the morning wasn’t
getting any closer. Finally, as I headed
off to bed, I slightly feel asleep. Dreams of the ocean and sun kissed hair
danced around in my head that night, just waiting and wishing the morning would
come around and be just like I dreamed.
Brianna,
ReplyDeleteI could really feel your excitement throughout your entry. The thing I liked the most was how relatable everything was. I have been there so I know exactly how it feels to "cash that check", especially before a vacation. You described everything so well and I really could hear your voice while reading this. Keep up the good writing skills!

Brianna,
ReplyDeleteI don't have a job so I can't really relate to the feeling of "cashing the check" before a vacation, but if I did have a job and was about to leave for a vacation, then I would probably feel the same way as you, excited and ready to leave. I bet this was a great day for you!
