Jacob's Blog 1
Okay, so this summer I went to Santa Claus, Indiana for my sisters softball tournament. On the way to Santa Claus it felt like we drove for maybe three hours, but I knew that the trip would be closer to five and half hours. We stayed in Owensboro, Kentucky because all of the hotels closer to the ball fields were booked up. Owensboro, Kentucky is at the most fifty minutes from Santa Claus. On the way to the ball fields we had to cross the Ohio River, and let me tell you something, that is a sight to see. The bridge structure was unreal. I got to see a real suspension bridge for the first time in my life. It was amazing. The view of the river was almost overwhelming. It was so beautiful. My sisters team did so great in the tournament too. They went 6-0 to win the championship. One of the worst parts about the trip was probably looking for food around midnight. Almost everything was closed except the places with drive-thrus like McDonalds and Burger King. The McDonalds was so slow we ordered at almost 11:45 P.M and we didn’t get our food til almost 12:35A.M. It was ridiculous. The best part about the trip was probably seeing a “Make America Great Again” billboard. It was the most amazing billboard I have ever seen. The trip back home was the worst part about the trip. When we left the ball fields Sunday night it was almost 8:30 P.M. The trip seemed so much longer on the way back on than it did on the way up there, granted that I slept on the way there. It was awful a five hour drive seemed as if we had drove for nearly thirty-six hours. The trip home was miserable. We didn’t even get to eat supper. All I had to eat on the way home was a Slim Jim and I had a YooHoo to drink. We finally got home, it was around 2:30 A.M, but I didn’t go to sleep till around 3 A.M. Overall, it was great bonding experience for my dad, my sister, and I.
