A non-boring weekend - Hailey H.

I think I just had a pretty good weekend. Like in the top fifteen best weekends for sure, as of right now anyway. I should probably start telling you about it now. So I went to a Bluegrass festival in Adona. Unfortunately, the car ride there and back was awful. We kept getting lost. I blame my grandmother who just blames the GPS. The festival was filled with talented bands who made me realize bluegrass music does not actually suck. I think I actually like it. Anyways back to the festival. There was this band where the musicians were under the age of eighteen, and they actually won the state competition. My grandpa is in his own bluegrass band, and they played this song about this rooster and it literally killed me. I laughed my head off.

If I wasn’t at the festival I was getting embarrassed on a mountain with my sisters and my grandma. My family loves to hike, but I couldn't care less about it. They wanted to see a waterfall at Petit Jean mountain, so we went. Parked as far from the trail as possible and talked to everyone on the trail going down. We met people from all over like Lousianna and California. They made fun of my “accent” which I don’t think I have but it's whatever. Told four people happy birthday and wished someone congratulations on getting proposed to at the waterfall. My grandma even got their pictures while the guy proposed and had to go out of her way to embarrass me in front of their son and get the lady’s Facebook information. The waterfall was really cool and super cold. But the fun stuff happened back up the mountain. I was starving, unmotivated, hot, and tired. And I ended up getting hurt by a tree root about halfway back which sucked. Eventually, we made it back. I ended up icing my ankle for about two hours and then tried to go back to the festival. I tried to get a chair down a hill to sit where the rest of my family was but it was a mess. I am happy to be home and not injured. I highly recommend going to a festival if you haven’t. Thanks for reading about my weekend!

It looks like we both had something that wasn't completely boring. Also we love a good waterfall proposal. Sounds like you had lots of fun at the festival. I wish you would have been able to go to the Les Mis thing with me. But glad you had fun. Also I love the “accent” thing which is hilarious. Sometimes you do have that bit of southern twang which is so funny. THAT DUMB TREE ROOT getting in your way like that was just plain rude. Someone needs to teach them some manner, but stay a solid 6 feet away ( flashback to quarantine memories, yikes) just in case they try it again lol.

It is great to see that even through all the annoying times you have had this summer that you have had some fun. I have had lots of fun as well, but I need to go and make blogs posts about them. I have only done like 3 blog posts as of now, but I have 6 more coming today. Anyways,I really enjoyed what you wrote about, and I will be sure to check out a festival. I am sure that I would have fun, but I am glad you enjoyed it so much. Keep having a great summer.

Girl I am so glad that you had a good weekend and that it was one of your top fifteen best weekends because that's awesome. Also with the getting lost and the GPS it is like the GPS is trying to get everyone lost because everytime we take a trip or go to a concert we are always late because the GPS took us some off road way that when we got to the road it said to go down there was literally no road to go down. I have to agree with your family about hiking. It really is amazing how everything looks when you are just looking at the sky. It's so funny because when we meet new people from other places they think we have an ancient but we do not think we do because that's just how we talk and its the same for everyone everywhere.

Hey Hailey! This comment is completely late but I can't finally 4th comment haha. Anyways I'm so happy that you had an amazing trip and even went to a festival. My family and I absolutely adore festivals and we go like all the time! I had no idea that we had that in common which is so much cooler! Anyways I'm sorry that this post is late, but I'm glad you had a fun and safe trip!
