Boring Summer- 5/11- Alexis Roberson

Where to begin this blog. Well, I am out for two weeks from cheerleading practice. Practice has been easy but tough on me at the same time. I have been put up in the air as a flyer (which scared me at first) and I’ve had to do these core workouts. Which isn't fun to do I might add. I am not the usual workout person. I was so tired after practice one day I just fell out on the couch when I got home. After the two week break is over I will have cheer camp, which I am super excited about. I have been practicing outside of cheer, trying to get down the chants and dances that I will need to know for the upcoming school year.

I picked up my guitar today. Turns out I still can’t play it. I played a few chords but it just wasn’t clicking for me. So, I went back to my keyboard. I am learning Say Something song on my keyboard. Turns out a lot of the chords are similar when playing it. I thought it would’ve had multiple ones like Someone You loved, but I was surprised by it.

I have started up my novel again on Webnovel. I actually got the appropriate amount of words (3000 I did the math)  per chapter. You have to have at least 80,000 words for a book to be considered a novel, and I don’t even have half that much, maybe around 30,000 words. So, I am slowly working on that. I am working on chapter 3 now, and I converted it into a Spanish version as well. I mean why not right? I actually want to hear how other peoples summers are going.  I get to see some of you in person, but not all of you.  I said I started reading The Twin but it is still sitting on my shelf. I picked up a few books, but somehow still haven’t found the time to read the one book I’ve been procrastinating on.

I am currently just chilling. Typing up this blog, while listening to YouTube with multiple tabs open, and playing Solitaire on my laptop. I am probably going to heat up some leftover taco bell. I did play Fortnite earlier, I haven’t been able to play it in a few days.

  1. Hey Alexis! I really enjoyed your writing this week for sure. I'm so happy and proud of you for working on flyer skills too! You've been doing an absolutely amazing job at flying as well, so keep up the good work! I've also read the book The Twin as well, and let me tell you one thing, it is a great book. I really hope you enjoy your break from cheerleading for a bit too sis! If you could keep practicing those drills that would be absolutely perfect as well. Anyways, I really hope you enjoy cheer & I also hope you have a great summer!

    2. Thank you! It means alot coming from you Captain! I get so nervous when I am in the air, but it is getting better. The more I practice and get the hang of it, the more confident I grow in myself. YES! The Twin is an amazing book, I did not like the ending though. I am hoping she will make a part two (still haven't looked that part up). You too! I have been enjoying cheer!

It is good to see that you are still writing and playing different instruments in your past time. It shows that even with everything going on, you have not lost your creativity or your passion for those things. As you know, I despise reading so much. However, everyone's blogs that I have been reading are all in depth about their struggles, or just how their life in general is going. You are an amazing writer and I could see you being famous one day 100%. Just remember to never listen to the negative things that people say about anything you do, they are just jealous of your bravery!

    1. Yes, I absolutely love writing and playing my keyboard. My piano/keyboard takes more patience though. Haha yes, I know you don't particularly like reading as much as I do. Awe thank you, we will definitely see about the famous author part. Always, positivity and creativity is my motto whenever I write. I make sure to write for fun and not for anything else. If I did, I know it won't be a great story. Thank you Caiden! -Alexis

I am so excited to be cheering with you, might I say you have already came so far. I my self have been doing a lot of practicing during my down time. I wish that I had instrumental talent like you, it's so good to see you staying active during this summer. I can't wait until your novel is finished because I definitely wanna be one of the first to read it. I have also never read The Twin so when you do get around to reading it let me know if you suggest it. Right now I am reading Grown by Tiffany D. Jackson, I am so in love with her as an author.

    1. Thank you! The keyboard wasn't easy as I thought at first, but it just takes time and patience. Also, lots of youtube videos as well. Absolutely! I do have it up online already. I'm just slowly working on the next chapters ( if you want to read it) Its on Webnovel or my own blog as well. The Twin is a really good book to read. I didn't like the ending to well. I love Tiffany D. Jackson, I got to go to one of her book talks this past school year! If you haven't read Mondays Not Coming, I recommend it (its by her and the book I read).
