So I decided to change the order in which I was gonna talk about fishing. The reason being because I got sick of talking to myself about it, and I knew that if I got tired of it y'all would too. With that thought, I changed my mind and I am going to talk about fishing every other blog.
As majority of you probably know I moved to Lake City a few years back. This used to be my grandmother's house before and my grandfather got a divorce. Anyway, this house is surrounded by trees and the ground tends to flood when it rains a bunch. Grandmother never cut down any trees even if they were dying and were a risk of falling on the house. Anybody who has ever came over here knows never to go outside for very long at night. The mosquitoes are so bad because of the wooded area around the house and the fact that water is usually around the house somewhere. It was so bad over here that you could spin in a circle outside and hit like a hundred mosquitoes. I'm over-exaggerating a little bit, but it was extremely bad.
Since we moved in, we cut some of the dead and dying trees down. We were not have a real bad mosquito problem since then until now. As we all know the rain has been really bad this year, flooding fields and almost breaking levees. All that rain caused water to stand in the yard and mosquitoes lay their eggs and hatch in water. Now they are the worst they have ever been. We open the door to outside for a couple seconds and a ton of them come flying inside. We'd be sitting on the couch, I'd turn on a light and there would be twenty or twenty five mosquitoes on the wall. We have covered every crack and crease in the house and somehow they still manage to come into the house in hordes. This morning after I got home for the Accuplacer test at ASUN, I sat down on the couch and turned on Blacklist within minutes I had five or six bites on my elbow swollen up real big.
I have a solution for those blood-sucking little demons though. My grandmother that lives in Caraway had a real bad mosquito problem and she got this thing called a Spartan or something like that. It is basically a mosquito eradicating container, it kills the mosquitoes in the yard by trapping them in the container so they can't get out or something to that extent. I think next time I run to Walmart I'll pick one of those up and see how well it works.
Hey it's Boaty here. That's cool that yall kind of cleaned up the place and kind of fixed the mosquito problem. Everyone has been having mosquitoes and they are awful right now because of all that rain. Well I guess my neighborhood isn't as bad as yours because none of us have trees, they just break off and die lol. I hope that mosquito killer stuff works for yall and if it does let me know about it, so I can use it for next year or something because you know they will come back lol. But anyways I guess I will see you Tuesday. Alexis Boatman #11
