It is me, or is it getting harder and harder to write these blog posts? I feel like with each one I write, I get a little less creative and a little less things to write about, so to fix that, I'm going to talk about multiple different topics in one blog. To start, let's talk about hubris, or excessive pride and arrogance. In today's society, hubris is found among people that think that think they are better than others with out a second glance, or mostly people that have an over-abundance of confidence. Now don't see this the wrong way, having self-confidence is very important when it comes to one's personality, but too much confidence can cause your ego to become inflated, and as they say, "Pride cometh before the fall.". Our next topic will be fear, an emotion created out of years of trial and error. Fear, while being an emotion felt by every human being, is one that was not originally apart of our emotion catalogue. Fear was created when we saw other humans die, whether it be by falling, killed by an animal, or things that go bump in the night. Now, the discussion of fear is a nice Segway into our next topic, the Mori's Uncanny Valley. The Uncanny Valley is a chart that shows that there is a certain area between human and not human, where we fear the thing that is almost human, but not quite. For an example, something that falls into this Uncanny Valley, is a fear that some people have for animatronics. The reason people find them scary is due to Mori's Uncanny Valley, that animatronics have human features, but they don't possess everything that makes them human, like free thought or organs, well some might but that's a story for another day. Now, with the information I just taught you, if you were paying attention, you would come to understand that when we fear something, it's because there is most times, a pretty justified reason as to why we do so. So, why do we fear things that look like they are human, but aren't quite? There has to be a reason as to why, and I'm about to tell you a crackpot theory to justify said fear. Have you ever heard of a wendigo? It's a mythical creature that can take the shape of a human or animal, to hunt down it's prey. Now, I know that sounds crazy that these two things could be related, but that's the only reason I can think of as to why we fear the Uncanny Valley. Anyways, that's enough rambling for one blog, thank you for reading my lunatic theories, and I will see you later.
