It was a Tuesday night when I got a text from a parent asking if I could babysit her daughter Shelby. At first when I got the text I was like "ughhh", because I was not sure if I really wanted too. Of course though I ended up doing it.
She arrived at my house at about 7:30am which I was not happy about that.Who wants to wake up that early to babysit during the summer, not me. When she first got here she wanted me to show her around the house, so she knew where everything was located. Afterwards she wanted to watch a movie, so I took her up to my room and turned on "Princess and the Frog." We watched that for total of 10 minutes, then she was ready to go swim. Keep in mind it is about 8am at this time. The water was absolutely freezing. I could barely get in, but she jumped right in like it did not even bother her.
After swimming for a bit she was ready to get out, so we dried off and headed back inside. She was tired, so we went back to my room and finished the movie we started. We ended up both falling asleep for about 30 or so minutes. When we finally woke up we realized we missed half the movie, so we went back to the place in the movie that we were at before we fell asleep.
We eventually decided we were hungry. I took her to one of the four places we have Lake City. Sonic is where we went. I ordered a Corn Dog, and she ordered a ice cream cone with fries. We headed home and decided to swim again.
Overall babysitting was not that bad, but you just have to constantly entertain them. Which is not something I am good at. Plus she wanted to swim the whole day, and I guess just growing up always having a pool swimming is something I don't really enjoy. I wouldn't mind doing it again, but definitely isn't something I could do everyday.
Hey it's Boaty again and this summer I have actually been doing a lot of babysitting too. Well my baby sitting was a little different than yours though. She was one years old. Even though she was one I still had to keep her entertained as much as you did, but we took more and longer naps lol. and we also watched a lot more movies. But babysitting is not bad just waking up really early is the worst part lol. I had to do that too. But anyways hopefully we don't have too babysit during the school year haha..
