Anna Meurer--- #2
The next thing I'm going to write about is the beach. Unfortunately we didn't get to go on a family vacation to the beach this year, but it was okay because we got to go as a basketball team, and they are basically family anyway. We go down to Fort Walton, FL every year as a team which is always the best time. We pack up our air mattresses and we sleep in the dance studio at the high school that we play at. We went for a team camp. We play 4 games, we won 3 and lost 1. Which is overall pretty good. Besides playing basketball we did all kinds of different things. There weren't very many of us this year, so we got to do way more than normal. We all enjoyed just chilling on the beach for as long as we could without roasting. After we got back from the beach everyday we went and got cleaned up and we just layed down for awhile because we were exhausted. After we rested and got our energy back we would get ready and go do something fun. We just did the basic things, we would go eat, we went shopping a few times, we went and watched a movie, and we also went walking on the beach at night. Which was very eventful one night. So we got there and we were the only ones on the beach, which we were very confused by, but we didn't think much of it. After we walked about half a mile down the beach, we hear Coach Hoffman yelling "GIRLS COME BACK" so we turned around. Once we got back up there we were asking what all that was about. Then he told us that there was a storm coming and right about then we heard thunder and saw lighting. As soon as that happened it started pouring down rain. This wasn't the only storm that we went through though. One day we were just laying out on the beach but it was very cloudy. The life guard told us not to get in the water because of the rip current, so we stayed out of the water. Everyday coach would go for a walk. It just so happened that while he was on his walk a huge storm came. We were all scared but we thought it was hilarious at the same time. We had no idea where coach was and the wind was blowing so hard that we couldn't even get the stuff together. I lost my sunglasses. R.I.P to those. But we finally made it to the bus and as soon as we did, the storm ended. Like what the heck we went through all that and as soon as we made it back it stopped. But the trip overall was a blast. I can't wait to go again next year.
