If y'all know me you know that only one holiday is the one for me and the only one I get excited for the most, and that is none other than Halloween or better known as All Hallows’ Eve. Taking the holiday back in time it wasn’t one most people wanted to celebrate and that was because they believed that it was a day for the devil and was associated with the devil and that if you celebrated it then you would be taken over, but back in time the day marked the end of summer and the end of planting things but it was the beginning of the cold and dark winters. They also believed that it was the most associated time of year that dealt with human deaths. It is said that they believed that the boundary between the living world and the dead was opened or it kinda became blurred into one and they believed that the ghosts of the dead would return to the earth, but still to this day some people don’t celebrate it because they still believe that and i'm not say that you shouldn’t we all have our own opinions on everything. I was born and raised with Halloween being celebrated and being the most fun and getting to eat a lot of candy but some people weren't and that is totally okay because everyone views everything differently. Over the years my Halloween and how I celebrate it has changed a bit and the traditions that were from the year before we don’t do much anymore. Some traditions we did for Halloween were watching scary movies all the way up to the 31st, going to haunted houses, dressing up, handing out candy, going trick or treating with my little brother/ cousins, and finally scaring people, which I will always dress up for the holiday because why not, it is so much fun being something you aren’t normally. This is my favorite time of year because it is the beginning of fall and it is just so pretty how the trees turn different colors and how it's not that hot but yet not that cold. It is really just a good time to go to parks or haunted houses which are so much fun.

ReplyDeleteI am not in love with the actual holiday of halloween even though I do enjoy the faces of little kids when they receive a handful of candy. I do however absolutely love the fall between the colors of the leaves, the variety of pumpkins, the smells of apples and pumpkin spice, the hay bale rides, little kids dressing up, and flavors it is hard to beat! I would say fall is my favorite season and halloween just happens to be in those months. So I may not love halloween but I can get behind a good movie about it!
I think this is one of my favorite blogs you have written. I really enjoyed the history you put in about Halloween. I am not the biggest fan of Halloween due to the fact I hate spiders which are always a decoration (gross), and that I am a big wimp. I haven’t seen a scary movie or anything and also the easiest person to scare. But I do love the fall time with the pumpkins and the color change. And I am not one to say no to a fun costume or candy. Seeing little kids in costumes is the best part of the holiday I think.

I really like this post Jaden. It has been pne of the more interesting posts to read. Halloween is also one of my favorite holidays. I always have a lot of fun on Halloween. (except last year because I ha covid on Halloween). I am honestly still a kid when it comes to it. I will still get dressed up and have fun. I mean who does not like getting free candy. Halloween is such a fun time during the year. I really enjoy watching scary movies on Halloween too. I think it makes them evens scarier.
