Vacation Part 8--Ashton Timms

This is the last blog of my Family vacation part eight out of eight.  After driving for 11 hours and 30 minutes straight at night we finally made it to Branson, Missouri. Before arriving in Branson we looked all over that night for a hotel but everyone was booked solid and rooms that were normally around $100-$150 were up too $400-500 a night. My dad ended up driving most of the night while we slept. We finally stopped at a breakfast buffet place before heading to the Branson strip. We ate a good breakfast and went to the Dolly Parton Stampede and got tickets for a show that night. After a few more hours of searching we finally found a hotel on the strip. We checked in and my dad caught up on some sleep while me, my mom, and sister chilled by the pool and swam for a few hours. We then got ready for the show and I’m not sure if you’ve ever been to the show but it’s a dinner show. Therefore we had a meal there. The meal included soup, biscuits, corn on the cob, chicken breast, potato wedge, pork loin, and an apple turnover for dessert. The show is all about horses and you have two sides. You either sit in the north or the south and you compete for these flags and metals. You have horse riders that represent each side. There are trick riders, barrel racers, chicken chase, a pig race, and comedy acts. After our show we headed back to the hotel. We walked around up and down the strip and enjoyed the lights and honestly we enjoyed the familiar scenery. As much as we love traveling all over the US it always feels good to end the trip somewhere we are familiar with. We woke up the next morning and headed home and made it back around 4:00pm. These last eight blogs summarized my Family Vacation for this summer in June. After arriving home we unpacked and went and visited our family that we hadn’t seen in a week and three days. But most of all we were happy to have our beds back.

  1. I always love reading about your vacations. You guys always do the coolest things. I am posting this on your last vacation series post since it made the most sense to me lol. I have always wanted to go see the UP house and it’s crazy that you were in the same town HSM was filmed. Colorado seemed like such a fun place to visit, with all the mountains and everything. But I don’t know how I would feel about the big elevation difference. My family and I were very excited to see our bed and we were just gone for a week so,I bet you guys were super excited to come home and sleep in your own beds since you guys were gone so long.
