A time I regret-Grant Smith

I am a person that doesn't regret a lot of things. I am proud to say that, but there is an occasion where I do regret. It was an occasion where I got caught up in the moment and tried too hard.
One time I regret was when I made the decision to get in a run-down or a pickle in baseball. It was my 8th grade year in baseball and we were playing Walnut Ridge. I chased an opponent player to second base and made the decision to try to turn real hard and tag him instead of just throwing it to the second baseman. In result, I jammed my left leg into the ground and hyper-flexed it backwards. I had torn my ACL. It hurt incredibly bad. I ended up hurting it two more times before I realized that I tore it the first time. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. Going through surgery, walking on crutches, the medication, and the inability to run were all things that made it worse. Not mentioning physical therapy. I ended up healing very well and I am back on the field playing again.
This experience made me more cautious playing sports. It made me think about how it's not good to get caught up in things and to focus on keeping your body safe. I hope to never hurt like I did that day,and I will forever regret making that decision.
