Bryce Despain - "If you don’t read, you can’t write, and if you can’t write, you might as well stop dreaming"

I believe that the quote "If you don’t read, you can’t write, and if you can’t write, you might as well stop dreaming," has many meanings behind it. However, the meaning that I mainly think it has is that if you don't even try to attempt something, you won't succeed at anything. Many times in life you might feel as if you can't do something correctly, but that is no excuse to not even try to attempt whatever it is. There is also no excuse to immediately give up on it because you don't succeed at it first try. Some of the greatest people alive always say, practice makes perfect, and it is a completely true statement.

For example, if I were to try something new that I had never done before, I would obviously not be the best at it. However, just because I'm not the best at it immediately after trying it, doesn't mean that I should give up on it. So, let us say I try to play an instrument that I have never even touched or attempted to play before. I obviously know that I'm not gonna be good at it, but that is still no reason to not even attempt to play it. That mainly is because practice makes perfect and I can eventually learn to play it even if I am currently horrible at it.

Another great example would be speaking in front of others or giving presentations. Some people absolutely hate doing presentations, but over the years as you age, you tend to constantly get better at them. For example, when you first start doing presentations, you might be nervous about them because you have to speak in front of people. However, as you age you continue to get more and more comfortable about giving presentations in front of others. This is mainly because you have to attempt to do so many of them in your life. Over the years you might not do so good on some of them, but you will eventually succeed at getting better at them. This is why practice makes perfect and it always will.

I know that this was a short essay, but sometimes some quotes have the simplest meanings behind them. You just have to try to attempt to figure out the meanings for yourself and not give up easily. I honestly think that was a good pun.
