I often go to the Bible for words of encouragement or in times of strife. I have some favorite verses/passages that I'd like to share.
They confronted me in the day of my calamity,
but the Lord was my support. 2 Samuel 22:19
Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates. Proverbs 31:25-31
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Psalm 150:6
For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16
Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “ Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.” Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth. See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.” Jeremiah 1:4-10
Lastly, my all time favorite verse.
Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
Hey Karlee, I hope that your summer is going great and you're having a lot of fun being out of school. These verses are some really great ones. I especially like Colossians 1:16 of the ones that you have listed. My personal favorite one is Philippians 4:13. It shows that I can do all things that I set my mind too. And that I can do all things through him, because he gives me strength to do so. I hope you have a great rest of your summer. School is almost here..

I really like the idea behind this post and I especially like the verses listed above. Psalm 150:6 Is one of my personal favorite verses. Its message is so good and belongs in the mindset of every christian. In its simple statement it says so much more. I have recently been going through some mysterious problems with my heart. I used to pray that God would heal me so I could praise him for what he had done for me, but then I remembered this verse and its message. I made up my mind that I wasn't going to wait for God to heal me. If the doctors find out it is something serious or minor it will still stand, as long as I have breath in my lungs he is still God and I am going to praise him. Harrison McCall #8
