-----Grant Smith #1 New Boat
Since winter I often thought about what made summer fun for me. Well, of course, that would be the lake. A lot of people tell me at the end of the summer that I have been a complete ghost and haven't been around, but that's because of the one and only Lake Norfork. I thought about what makes the lake so great. Well, that's easy, it's the boats. Fast boats, slow boats, big boats, little boats, it doesn't matter, women love boats. So, of course, I conned my family into buying us all a nice boat. In which nobody else in my family has the experience to use so it worked out great for me. As soon as we first took it out I fell in love with its candy apple red color and its 50 mph speed on water. I never wanted to go to the lake as much as I did this summer because of that red boat. I would take my buddies out on it and we would all meet up with other boats and tie up on the lake. Lots of fun came with this new toy, but lots of responsibility came too. Gas money isn't cheap, especially at marinas. Plus, boats drink gas faster than anything. Other necessities like driving safe, making sure you don't kill whomever is tubing, and checking to see if you aren't sinking are all important too(kinda). Boats require a lot of maintenance too. Like making sure the oil is fresh and the boat is cleaned thoroughly after every time you bring it out of the water. It's not always fun but it is worth it. It doesn't get much better than tearing up the lake on a Saturday with the boys. The least I could say is that I enjoyed the boat. I enjoyed the lake so much that I would move there if it weren't for Mrs.Larkins charming self at Riverside. Heres to blog number one. I think I'm gonna take a break from this garbage and go get on a boat.
