Opossums will win the war against Thanos.
I’ll admit, I’ve never seen Infinity War and I don’t plan to. I’m just here for the meme.
Opossums will rule the world. They have opposable thumbs on their hind legs and a strong, flexible tail. They could hold you at gunpoint from many angles. You’d die from an opossum. And you will.
Opossums are natural protectors of gardens. They’re a lot like guardian angels. Garden angels. They eat pesky creatures that are often the cause of plant decay and rot, such as rats, mice, cockroaches, snails, beetles, and slugs. If any of these are found in the opossum territory, they will likely kill and consume the prey.
Opossums are eight times less likely to contract rabies that your average run of the mill wild dog. All mammals can contract the rabies disease, but it’s a very, very rare case in opossum. This is mostly due to the higher body temperature of 94-97 degrees Fahrenheit in an opossum body. Their body heat makes it extremely difficult for the rabies virus to remain, grow, and thrive in the opossum host.
Opossums require a scary amount of calcium to keep up their bodily functions. Instead of simply eating the meat of their prey, the omnivores with consume the bones and skeletons to meet these calcium levels required. An opossum will consume small creatures, such as rats, but they also prey on insects, arachnids, snakes, and small birds. They will also eat pet food, roadkill, berries, fruits, vegetables, and garbage.
Opossums are the only marsupials located in North America. They consume huge amounts of ticks, and without them, it’d wreck havoc on the ecosystem. Especially to humans, as opossum eat the majority of ticks they come in contact with, thus saving us from Lyme disease, as well as not contacting the virus and spreading it from mammals to humans. In the past 150 years, less than ten opossum total have been tested positive for the rabies virus. They are the longest living mammal on the planet due to their ability to eat bountiful of garbage. They are but large trash rats.
As a lot of us, opossum are more scared than they are scary.
