Today was amazing, we had an early start but it was
worth what we did throughout the day. We woke up at 6 in the morning and got
into official dress: White shirt, black slacks and shoes, and blue corduroy
jacket. We took our showers the previous night, so all we had to do was get
dressed and brush our teeth. Our breakfast was at 7, we had scrambled eggs,
bacon, a biscuit, and some orange juice. Before the college shows I sat down
and wrote yesterday's journal entry, I forgot to do it before bed last night.
Afterwards we had the college show, we talked to some people about fundraisers
and other about colleges. Me and Harrison signed up for some prizes, they are
going to announce them tomorrow at lunch. Speaking of lunch, we got to go in
early because it started raining. We had hamburgers, potato chips, cookies, and
a salad. After lunch we had our first general session. The presiding officer
was the president, Sam Harris. We had the posting of the colors, last years’
president prayed, and 3 people gave greetings. The keynote speaker was MISS
AMERICA! She talked about how she started doing pageants and how it helped her.
The session ended with the retiring address of the secretary, Will Clark. He
talked about how you shouldn't give up then try again, but finish what your
doing the first time. After the first session, we had dinner. They served
chicken strips, we had dinner. They served chicken strips, a roll, and mashed
potatoes. It was really good. We then had our second general session. The
presiding officer was Will Clark, the secretary. We were greeted by the past
Arkansan national president. We have only had two in all of our time as a part
of the national organization, the second was elected this year. They then gave
out a bunch of awards. The keynote speaker was the national president, Taylor
McNeal. She talked about living positivity and helping others. The session
ended with the retiring address of the North West district Vice-President,
Brian Hale, he talked about carrying on throughout life. After it was over I
went back to my room and wrote this.
