Sweet 16!! : Haven Robertson

My 16th birthday is one that I will never forget. It was probably the best party I have ever had. The weird part is that I had no idea that I was even going to have a party.
It all started a couple of days before my birthday, which is on October 15th. First of all, I remember asking all of my friends throughout the week if they would like to go eat or something for my birthday and that would always say that they wouldn't be able to go so that was really weird but I never thought much about it.
I was at school one day when Lauren Smith stopped me and asked if she could take me out to get our nails done and hang out  for my birthday since I wasn't supposed to have a party. Of course I said yes. I was so excited because I rarely got to spend time with Lauren. So, that Friday after school, Lauren picked me up from my house and we went to get our nails done first in the mall. We both got pedicures. After that, we went to Starbucks. I was having a great time. After we got finished in Jonesboro, we headed back to Lake City. Lauren told me she had to stop by her house before she dropped me off at mine. While Lauren was inside, I got on my phone and looked at my snapchat stories and saw something very strange. It was a picture of my friends Wesley and Carson in a photo booth that said " Haven's Sweet Sixteen." When Lauren got back in the car, I asked her what was going on. She told me, " maybe they're just getting things ready for your birthday next week." That made since to me so I just didn't think anything else about it.
After we stopped at Lauren's house, we headed back to mine. We pulled into my driveway and Lauren asked me if she could come inside to talk to my mom. So, we both got out of the car and walked towards the garage. I remember that I heard weird noises and one of them sounded like my friend Brittney Sain. I opened the garage and all of my friends and family ran out at me yelling "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" I was in shock! I had no idea that anything was going on. My parents had our shop decked out in birthday decorations and games. They even had me a cake that looked like a basketball jersey. I had such a great time at the party! I am so lucky to have family and friends that would do something like that for me, especially THE Mattie Lowery. I will always remember my 16th birthday.
