Church Camp Lessons - Kim Wilson (10)

Things that Redfield UPC Campground has taught me:

Each year (mostly) most every kid/teen from church heads up to Redfield for camp. After going for a couple of years I have learned a few things.

1.) People meet their husband/wives there. There are many married couples who say they met at camp. Many. Trust me.

2.) Never fall asleep first. If you're in a dorm with girls who enjoy pranks, be prepared to find yourself trapped in your bed. They may or may not wrap your bed in plastic wrap.

3.) Always get to snack thirty minutes early if you don't want to wait in line. Even if you're there thirty minutes early there is still a line, but not a super long line. Be early to everything so you don't waste an hour or more of your life.

4.) Some of the best people you would meet, you meet at camp. Everyone who goes tends to make a few new friends. Unless you're antisocial and only speak to the people you already know, yes I'm talking about you, Harrison.

5.) Always bring snacks to share at 3 a.m. when you and the girls in your dorm are discussing everything that comes to mind. It's a lot more fun than it sounds.

6.) The perfect time to sing about Jesus is when it's raining and you're stuck under the gazebo. Always the best worship service that isn't really a worship service but people have guitars out and everyone loves to sing.

7.) Also, according to us (the girls) the rain is also the perfect time to run around and sing Let it Rain at the top of our lungs causing the guys to walk over because they think we went crazy. (We always were though, but they don't know that.)

8.) NEVER FORGET TOWELS. You're life will suck for the rest of the week if you do. It will be terrible.

9.) Always pack comfortable shoes for the best services because praise break. You don't want to hurt your ankles.

10.) Never forget that one black skirt that makes everything modest length. If not you might have to change your whole outfit, which sucks.

This post probably makes you think we’re crazy, and I assure you, we are. #StrangeForJesus
