Grace might not have been in her walk, but it was most definitely in her heart. You could hear it in her voice when she talked to others. You could see it in her smile as she listened patiently to everyone. She truly cared for everyone, even strangers. She demonstrated that with her every act. It didn't matter if they were her friend or a stranger, she cared for them the same. It was merciful and kind, and most people aren't strong enough to be like that these days.
However, one can love as much as possible but still hate somethings. She hated it. Not them. No, as I've said before, she loved everyone. But she did hate the fact that she was ignored. She hated that she could speak in a crowd and not be heard. Was it not evident enough in her voice how passionate she was? Didn't they care? She cared, and it hurt her that others couldn't take a few seconds out of their day for her to explain what she was so excited about without rolling their eyes.
But being the person she was, she would never let it bother her too much. She loved those that purposely ignored her and prayed for those who made fun of the strange things she would do. She didn't pay attention to the words flung at her. Instead, she took them to her closet and prayed. She cared so much about everything. She helped everyone she could and then helped even more.
I don't see her often anymore. She moved to California because her dad felt God calling him there. I miss her a lot. She was older than me. A lot older, actually. I was one of those girls that idolized her and she dragged me along with her anyways, despite how annoying I probably was. She inspired me so much. She inspired me to be a better person and to be the best I could be. She inspired me to love like God loves and to care about everyone as much as she does. Before she left, I told her how much of an inspiration she was to everyone. What she told me in response changed me. Before getting in the car she gave me a hug. She whispered to me, “Be that person to someone else. Inspire others as much as I inspired you.” After that day, I went home and dwelled on what she said to me. It was that day that I didn't care what everyone else thought, I was going to live the way Christ wants me to live.
