He breathes out a sigh before finally deciding to do something about his little predicament. “I’ll give you exactly thirty seconds to get out of my way. If you don’t, you’ll end up like those who crossed me and my family. Every member of it.”
One of the beings stares at him for a moment, its head cocked to the side, reminding him somewhat of his mother-in-law. “How did they end up?” it questions.
Wren stands, heating his body up enough to break his bonds. “You’re about to find out.”

After taking care of his kidnappers, Wren slowly makes his way to the pilot room of the large, futuristic-looking ship. The ship is tedious to navigate through, but he eventually makes it.Wren stares at the buttons, listening to the sounds of the various monitors as he takes a moment to think. He has a lot of options to consider even if most of them resulting in his untimely death.
“Well, if I die, at least Ailsa’ll know I love her. As for the rest of ’em… well…” he pauses in his mutterings, taking a breath to steel himself. “Calm down, Wren. You’re the son of Wendy and Jason Cage—son-in-law of Yui and Avery Wallace—the Demon Queen and King. You can do this.”
He presses a button as the ship’s controls spark, rapidly increasing the sounds of the already loud monitors. He covers his ears in agony, letting out a scream a moment before his eyes fly open, revealing the familiar ceiling of his home.
He sits up, breathing rapidly, as the sounds of his son’s crying woke his wife. Quickly, Wren is on his feet. “I’ll get Euca, okay? Ailsa, you go back to sleep.”
He saunters into his son’s room, the sounds of crying filling his sensitive ears. “Hey, little man, what’s wrong? You have a weird dream, too?”
Euca, only a few months old, answers with his wailing. Wren nods, picking the baby up, holding him gently in his arms. Lightly, he rocks the small boy, slowly coaxing him to sleep.
With Euca asleep, Wren places a kiss on his forehead. Like his father, and his grandfather, Euca has gunmetal hair, but instead of hazel eyes, Euca has his mother’s glowing blue eyes.
Wren turns, hearing Ailsa’s light breathing coming from the doorway. He smiles at her, smoothly placing their son in his crib. He gives him one last look before turning and leading his wife back to their room, managing to sleep peacefully for the rest of the night.
