Fourth of July (3) Chloe Reese

The Fourth of July is the national holiday that celebrates the independence of the United States. July the fourth is the day the United States declared its independence from Great Britain. We celebrate this day by wearing red, white, and blue, the colors of our flag. Then we celebrate by buying all kinds of fire works and lighting them at night. This has become a tradition many people do on this holiday. There are also other people in the United States that take this day off to go to the lake and take trips with their family. This holiday is usually spent with family and friends. This time is spent enjoying our independence and having fun lighting fireworks. This Fourth of July was the 2,016 th birthday of the United States. For this holiday my family and I went and bought ground fireworks and then for the first time ever, we got a huge package of the huge explosive fireworks. Then that day we went shopping for food at krogers. We went there looking to buy ribs, and while we walked up we saw that they were grilling some outside. So instead of having to cook some, we bought two slabs outside that smelt like heaven and were already cooked. Then we went home and grilled Corbin the cob, potatoes, and some chicken on the grill. We knew it would be a while for everything to cook , so my sister and I went down the street to my cousins. They were outside doing fireworks so we joined them for a little while until the food was done. Then my sister and I went home and ate until we couldn't eat any more and waited for it to get dark. Then we doused ourselves with bug spray and lit the fireworks. We sat and watched the sparks fly and listed to them pop. They were mound and amazing to watch. But then the night came to an end when we  ran out of fireworks and were being carried away my the pesky mosquitoes . To sum it up this Fourth of July was great and one to remember.

  1. Chloe, I am so glad that you had a great fourth of July. We too bought some big fireworks for the first time. Our close neighbors and I all had a big blow out with all of our fireworks that we had bought. We probably had over $500 worth of firewroks (Which is big for us). We had supper with out neighbors also. We went swimming and had a great ole time. I hope the rest of your summer goes good because school is just around the corner... It will be here before you know it.
