my fourth of July -Ambria Curtis

As everyone knows, the fourth of July A.K.A. Independence day, is supposed to represent independence because it is the day that the thirteen colonies claimed their independence from England. This eventually led to the United States forming. It was a very important part to History so we celebrate this day because without it there wouldn't be a United States. So now, it is a day everyone likes to celebrate generally, it is done by shooting fire works and cook outs. My fourth of July was very fun and eventful. I had been staying a few nights at my nana's house so around 12:00 yesterday my brother and his friend came to get me from her house and we went to my brothers friends house. But, that morning I spent with my Nana playing scrabble because it's her favorite game. After I was picked up we did some grocery shopping for the party then went back to the house. We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. While waiting for the food to cook, everyone stayed outside and rode dirt bikes and we also did some target shooting. After the food was ready, we all went inside to eat and visit. Later, when it started getting dark, we all began shooting fireworks. They were so pretty watching them light up the night sky with different colors. The only bad part was the mosquito's biting. Bug spray didn't even seem to help. That was my least favorite part but, in the end it was worth it. After we shot all of the fireworks off, everyone started to head home. We even got to watch more fireworks on the way home. You could see them through the car window and they looked so pretty. By the time I got home, I was so worn out so I slept pretty good. All in all, I had a great fourth of July. I got to spend it with friends and family and that's the most important part to me. I can not wait until the next fourth of July!
