Family Ties # 4 --Jo Baker-
I think your family should be one of the most important things to you. Your family is the people who help shape you into yourself. Your family is always there for you. Your family are the ones who share your life with you and know you the best. My family gives me love, fun, sensitivity, honesty, and the feeling of safety. I don't know what I would do, or who I would be without my family.
With my family I know I will always have somebody to count on. I love going out with my family and spending time with them. They are always there whenever I have a problem or need some help. we have good times and tough times. Me and my sisters fight a lot. Were not always the best of friends. But in the end we're their for each other and keep each other safe. We don't let each other sink. Even though we may fight sometimes, when it comes down to it we have each others backs.
Now when I say family I don't necessarily mean people who are kin to you by blood or by marriage. I mean people you consider your family out of love for them. I have an aunt, uncle, and little cousin who aren't kin to me in any way. But they've been around since before I was even borne. They have helped us with whatever we've needed. I also have family who have been terrible to me and my family, and have never been here for me and my family.
People do not have to be kin to you in any way to feel like they're family. When you consider somebody to be your family, it's only a matter of love, respect, and being there. People who are kenned to you can be terrible family and people who aren't can be the best family. Family is family. It's who you love, who is there for you, and who you take to be your actual family.
Don't ever feel like you have to limit the word family to people who are kin to you by blood or by marriage. Family can be anybody. As long as you and your family has each others love and compassion. Don't feel like the only family that can actually be family is the ones who are kin to you. Your family can be anybody.

I loved this post because it made me think about how thankful I am for my family. It also made me think about how much I love them, how they are always there for me, and family I consider family that aren't blood. I have people I consider family that are friends and my parents friends. I consider them practically family because either they are always around or they always used to be. I love having all of my family blood and not because we all support and are there for each other. - Chloe Reese
