Hot Springs - Harrison McCall #21
I have already talked about Family Camp this year, bu there is something I didn't mention that we did. This is something we try to do every year and that is to take a day and spend It like a small family trip. We have gone to Silver Dollar City, hung out in Downtown Little Rock along the River, but this time, we went to Hot Springs. This was my first time to hot springs that I can remember. I went when I was little, but I have no recollection of that. We went to the older more historic part of Hot Springs. As a history buff, I thought it was really cool. Also, there were a fair amount of pokestops, so I was able to stock up on items for Pokemon Go. The bath houses were interesting, but I personally saw no appeal in them. It seemed like a weird experience, but they were apparently very popular and made lots of money. It was definitely cool to learn about considering it is a big part of our Arkansas history and drew people from across the nation to the bath houses. I also learned about how the mob was involved with Hot Spings. They were actually so involved that there is a whole Gangster museum there. We didn't get to go on the tour at the gangster museum because of time, but I definitely plan to go in the future. We also didn't have time to go to the wax museum which seemed to be really cool. Hot Springs was a fun trip and I got to learn some of Arkansas' history, and yes I did say learning and fun in the same sentence. That is because history is cool to me. I realize this is a little short but that was all that really happened so that is all I have to say.

I have only been to Hot Springs about 3 times. All involved a choir trip, we wouldn't go anywhere but to sing and then to Magic Springs. It is an amusement park that has a lot of great rides. Their roller coasters are amazing and the most recent time we went I rode this thing called the Skyshark. It is basically a giant swing with a big twist. You were a harness and are attached to the giant cords that pull you up 50 FEET. They count down and you have to pull a cord that drops you and you swing back and forth for a while. Keep up the great writing and have a great school year.
